THE MERGE
Merge: [murj] verb. merged, merg路ing, merg路es v.tr.
1. to combine, blend, or unite gradually so as to blur the individuality or individual identity of 2. to become combined, united, swallowed up, or absorbed; lose identity by uniting or blending (often followed by in or into)
The project is about merging different elements from already existing garments to create new, interesting silhuettes. The developments were focused on outerwear design. Acne Studios has an inspirational way of incoorporation interesting details and trim in their garments. The focus on details is inspiration for new items in the mini-collection.

AUTOMATISM
“The collection has been driven by experiments and coincidence rather than by conscious choice. Being inspired by coincidence and the unconscious I have looked into Dadaism and Surrealism. In Dadaism things are not supposed to make sense and the unconscious elements are used as an unpersonal creative power. In Surrealism the goal is to unite the conscious life with the unconscious - to link reality and dream. During the project I developed 3 moodbooks to document the constraints and steps in my creative process. Each book had a specific subject; Classical automatism (book 1), experimental automatism (book 2) and automatic shape developments (book 3).
//1 CLASSICAL AUTOMATISM
//Sunglasses made in collaboration with Tom Davis
Experiments with classical automatism techniques; aerography, collage, fumage, outagraphy, coulage, decalcomania. My focus was on experimenting and exploring the strenghts and possibilities in the different techniques.
//2 EXPERIMENTAL AUTOMATISM
I developed new techniques with inspiration in the classical automatism moodbook. The orginal techniques from moodbook 1 was altered and changed into new techniques relevant for my project. During the developments of the new techniques I was focused on shape and texture.
//3 AUTOMATIC SHAPE DEVELOPMENTS
In the final moodbook I merged and mixed the different techniques from moodbook 1+2 by making collages. Focus was on the silhouette. From the final moodbook I developed the final styles for the collection.
SPORT ELEGANT//TROMPE L’OEIL
The collection is inspired by sportswear and optical illusions. The universe is naive and playful. The inspiration is the imitation of reality mixed together with classical sportswear references. Things may look like something that they are not. The colours of the collection are chosen to show the childish and innocent way to look upon life. The materials for the collection are synthetic, untraditional and imitations of other materials; faux fur, faux leather, metal etc.

//TWISTED MIND TRAVELLER
The project is an investigation of trim and details. The collection is inspired by asymmetry and classical tailor details. Working with details in the garments was a way to add this little extra something to each style, making the styles more unique. The silhouettes, trims, details and prints are inspired by the moodboard. Using traditional trim details in a sport context is to me very interesting - Dissolving the line between streetwear and functional sportswear.

THE COLLECTOR The collection derives from an insect collector’s universe. I was fascinated by the special bond between collector and item and also the bestial way of looking upon a dead animal as a decorational object. I have worked with different ways to create an illusion of life and how to make the garments able to interact with the wearer. Experiments with the garment’s reaction to the movement of the body, colour changing textiles, and work with interference as a way to illustrate life in the garments, all led to the final pieces of the collection.

HYPNAGOGIA
Assignment: Creating a fictive fashion brand, HYPNAGOGIA and making a full range collection for production. Inspiration: Hypnagogia; The state where you are awake and asleep at the same time. Working with a psychadelic and distorted universe deriving shape and textile structure from trendboard made by Stine Mikkelsen (fellow textile student). The outcome of the project was a full range collection with material samples, trim board, colour scheme and collection overview. One of the styles from the collection was sent for production in Lithuania. Collaboration: Marie Munk Hartwig, CÌcilie Dyrup, Lina Funder Nielsen, Wenja Rømhild.

THE WILD//THE MILD
Business collaboration with Danish shoe manufacturer, ECCO. The assignment: To make a collection consisting of 6 pair of shoes under the theme; “The Wild and the Mild”. Making 2 prototypes in 1:1. Collaboration: Sarah-Sofie Nørbo, Textile Design and Simon Grønlund, Industrial Design.
//EXPERIMENT https://vimeo.com/61614405 The video shows an experiment about the way that different soles affect your walk and stance. Some soles make it impossible for you to walk, others impossible for you to stand still. Through the project we wanted to create a debate about the way that we, as consumers, choose our footwear. The shape and style is often more important than the comfort and fit. This is in great contrast to ECCO’s way of designing shoes. They are focused on the fit and comfort before anything else. After making the video we decided on making a shoe, that is almost tragicomically impossible to walk in. The really wild shoe almost works against you, is too heavy to lift and with an unpredictable sole that makes your walk and stance insecure. On the other hand we wanted the mild shoe to be the opposite of the wild shoe - a shoe that supports your personality and supports you throughout the day.
