Editorial
The session is near to its end. It is Valentine’s day. You go home, put on some nice clothes and go out or stay home and watch sad old romantic movies - either way you won’t be at the session anymore. But somehow the session is still with you - there are pictures waiting to be tagged on Facebook, videos to rewatch, issues to read and of course memories to recall. Everybody gets over this melanholic feeling differently. Some watch even more sad movies, while others write to their friends and team mates to organise another meeting, watch back to the session and be happy because it was amazing. This is the last issue out of three and this time it is all about You. There are pieces about the next steps that one can take in EYP Austria, explanations to understand all the parts of EYP and also statistical material about this particular session. We hope that after reading this issue you will find yourself thinking about future in EYP. Hopefully we see you soon! Annemari and Caroline

What te are you? Did you prepare for the session? Preparation? What does that mean?
Sure! Did you read the topic overview more than twice?
What did you enjoy the most? Committee Work
Of course!
Teambuilding
No, I was partying
Do you always want to have the last word?
No, I don’t like giving my opinion in front of others.
Yes!
The debater The grey mouse
The analytical thinker
Is your voice raspy? Yes, I was partying last night
No Yes, I talked too much during CW
The active
No, because sometimes other people are right as well.
How many coffees did you already have?
Less than 5, I am already really energetic
More than 5, but I still feel tired.
The sleepy
The analytical thinker is reserved but witty persons. During CW, you like taking part in the discussion only when it is essential but every time you say something it changes the group direction. During TB, the thinker has no interest in leading at all but he can get really excited about his theories and ideas on how to solve a game. The grey mouse listens and understands the point that is being debated, but still prefers to stay quiet and give opinion only when asked to do so. During CW, you internalize your thoughts before sharing them with the others, which doesn’t mean you’re lacking of good ideas. During TB, the grey mouse is not interested in leading, nor in controlling others. The active needs to express his opinion all the time. During CW you want to get things done and that is the reason why you’re constantly giving ideas to seek an agreement. At TB, you’re very effective at problem solving and leading group discussions on the way. The sleepy has a constant need to close his eyes. You probably spent too much time partying last night, which is why you’re only looking forward to the coffee break and you’re not paying much attention to the CW. During TB though, you managed to find some energy and were enthusiastic in each and every game. The debater is constantly giving contrary opinions. During CW, you like playing the devil’s advocate and presenting points of view that are completely different from the already shared ones. During TB you don’t easily agree with the plan that your teammates came up with, so you just decide to propose a completely opposite plan.

Parts of programme Teambuilding (TB) Teambuilding is a perfect time to play the weirdest games in your life. How often do you play rock-paper-scissors with a stranger and then follow him around and cheer him? Do you have an urgent need to ask someone if he or she loves you? In the end, have you ever imagined that after only a few hours spent out of your comfort zone, you can become friends with people you have just met the very morning? Committee Work (CW) At this stage you are using your gained knowledge from reading the Topic Overview and doing a further research. Even though
discussing a complex issue and coming up with a solution might seem as an impossible task, with a help of your chairpersons each committee will eventually come to a conclusion. General Assembly (GA) This is the fanciest event of the whole EYP session. Each committee is defending their resolution and critically discuss the other ones.
Chairpersons: They usually find a group of delegates and stick with them till the end of the session. They are very caring and are constantly trying to help their committee to achieve desired resolution. Have strong feelings for their committee.
Head Organisers: If you spot them, you are one of the luckiest persons at the session. They are very hardworking and take care of everyone and everything at the session, as it was their little baby.
President: This person is the Organisers: They are not easy only one of its kind. He is the to see while working but they support of the team of Chairleave traces everywhere. It Gets Better!
EYP is one long road and just like any other one it has its ups and downs. Being at a session -without doubt- is both inspiring and exciting, but it is perfectly normal for newcomers to feel a bit confused how EYP works. But do not forget, just because this one left question marks on your mind does not mean that you will not enjoy the next session. In fact, we should warn you: EYP is quite addicting!
met her editing partner Annemari this August at a session in Ukraine and set the very first cornerstones of our media team. Now she has been in EYP for two years. The most important thing EYP taught her is that with the help of others everything is reachable.
One of the organisers, Michael, on the other hand, had a different start in his journey. He did not get selected at his first regional session. This did not discourage him and he applied for the national selection conference. Then he became a member of EYP Austria alumni and now he has been in EYP for one year. When we asked him why he was continuing EYP, he said: “It is because of the people! And no matter how strange you are, it doesn’t matter. Everybody will accept you in EYP.”
From Ireland to Azerbaijan, every year there are thousands of students having their first EYP experience ever. Some get fascinated by the atmosphere of this authentic youth organisation and do their best to be a part of it and some do not find it interesting. Caroline, one of the editresses, tells that she had a nice start. In the first session she attended, she got selected to Ankara Youth Forum of EYP Turkey. endings. There are so many magical and influential aspects that happy memories never cease to exist. Meeting new people and turning awkward acquaintances into long-lasting friendships is one of the wonders of EYP, for example. Spending exhausting days after sleepless nights is definitely not something that EYPers enjoy yet we always feel the desire of attending another session the moment closing ceremonies end. Getting selected at a session does give a motivation to further attend another sessions and getting other positions in EYP. The idea of spending ten days with people from 40 different countries is of course appealing! But every session has its own memories and they can never replaced with another one. That’s why, on behalf of the whole officials team, I can say that try to participate and get mad as much as you can! So our last words in every event will always be these: See you next time!
