Saving Do not save assessment files to your netbook only . Emailing a copy to yourself is a good strategy. Or save to a USB,or H drive. 2. Save work regularly . 3. When opening school email attachments , make sure you save them to a permanent location, like your H drive, before working on them. Otherwise, email attachments will open in a temporary folder and work on these files may be lost, even though you have clicked the save icon, becausethey are in a TEMPORARY folder. 4. Photo Story As seen in the image, Photo Story Lets you either a) SaveProject- you can keep editing or b) Finish the storySaveyour story for playback on your computer. If students click Save Project, their story will only work on the computer they created it on. If the file is wp3, as shown in the next image, it is a project file. It needs to be saved as wmv by choosing “Save your story for playback on your computer� for a presentation that can be copied/saved that will work on other computers. The reason the sound or imagesfails to work in a presentation, is usually becauseit is still a project file. 1.

Moviemaker Moviemaker can be saved as a) a project file- you can keep working on it-but it won’t play on other computers b) finish it, by going to step 3 as shown in the in the image The reel icon, and the extension MSWMM indicate it is still a project file. Clicking the save icon, savesit as a project file. Students must complete Step 3 and Finish Movie to avoid problems like the red crossesand sound not playing in their presentation. 6.
