The Town of North Hempstead was once again recognized as a “Tree City USA” by the Arbor Day Foundation. This marks the 11th year that the Town has received the title of “Tree City USA.” This designation is given out to towns and cities that have a viable tree management plan and program. To be eligible to be recognized as a “Tree City USA” community, certain requirements must be met, such as having a Tree Board or Department, a Tree Care Ordinance, a Community Forestry Program and the observance of Arbor Day.

On December 6th, 2022, Coach Feeney had to go above and beyond his normal duties when a student athlete suddenly collapsed during practice and began seizing before going into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. Coach Feeney quickly called 911 and helped administer CPR along with one of the team’s assistant coaches. The coaches and team trainer were able to regain the student athlete’s heartbeat before administering two shocks from the AED. The student athlete ultimately received treatment at the hospital before returning to the court just six weeks later.
