Jericho’s newest female role model Dr. Micheala Finlay is taking on her newest role as the high school assistant principal with spirit and passion.

Dr. Finlay joined Jericho for its supportive community. She said, “The students, teachers, and community are amazing. It was a great match, and I was happy to bring my knowledge and ideas.”
Dr. Finlay is excited for the opportunity to mentor students as a member of the high school administration. She said, “I feel I am a strong role model as the woman on the team, and I feel I can be there for not only the young girls, but all students as they go through high school and their teenage years.”
Dr. Finlay has worked in education for 10 years, and was a curriculum associate in Jericho last year. She obtained her bachelor’s degree at Saint Joseph’s University, her master’s at Long Island University, and her doctorate at St. John’s.

Syosset High School Science Olympiad Team Takes First Place At States In Historic Win
The Syosset High School Science Olympiad Team took home First Place at the New York State competition last week. This is the first time in the High School’s history the team has ever placed first at the state level. The win earned them a spot at the National competition in Wichita, Kansas this coming May.
Earlier this year, 450 teams from around the state competed in regional competitions with only the top 60 advancing to the state level. Having placed within the top 60, Syosset traveled to Le Moyne College on
