WKD CELEBRATES MATES THIS CHRISTMAS
The brand’s campaign builds further on its successful Love Island association.
Ready-to-drink brand WKD has launched a seasonal campaign which celebrates mates, including house mates, teammates, old mates, best mates, and work mates.
The campaign, called Merry ChristMATES, sees the brand embark on a huge social media campaign created to help people celebrate their friendships and reconnect with mates.
The campaign comprises two main aspects:
● A series of light-hearted competitions and easy-to-enter online activities offers festive prizes to both the entrant and their best mates. Christmas is all about sharing and WKD is providing loads of opportunities for its legions of online followers to give free competition winnings to their friends.
● Previous Love Island contestant and social media influencer Chris Taylor will reprise his role as WKD brand ambassador to bring some carefully curated content to his 1.1 million followers. Taylor will enlist his friends to demonstrate just how much mates mean to him. The tongue-in-cheek series of videos will be released throughout December.
● In addition, two contestants from this year’s series of Love Island – Brad McClelland and Dale Mehmet – have been lined up to create fun footage which will showcase some very special WKD Christmas cocktails.

BLAST-OFF
Energy drink brand Carabao will relaunch its Mandarin Orange flavour as Carabao Orange Blast this month in plain and pricemarked cans, with an improved recipe. The launch will be supported by a Facebook advertising campaign and a series of activations targeting football fans.
SWEET VEGAN
Confectionery wholesaler, Hancocks, has added Swedish confectionery brand BUBs to its pick and mix range. The range of BUBs available for retailers include the iconic Skull Sweets in Cool Melon, Cool Cola, Sour Raspberry and Lemon and Sour Skulls.
EXTRA DRY
Speciality Brands is adding a new vermouth to its roster – Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry. This vermouth is the perfect addition to classic cocktails, such as the Martini or the Bamboo, but is also equally at home served long with elderflower tonic, soda water or sipped over ice.
