Bevis Residence-Model About Project: The Bevis Residence Project is the renovation of a mid-century modern style of house. Apart from the renovation this house has been expanded to include a carport, a master suite and a pool and recreational room. Firm & Architect: Modern Redux Firm, Ar. Morris Hylton III. 3D Model About Project: The Regal Solitaire Apartment , is a residential project consisting of 2-3 BHK apartments starting from 1150 sqft to 4000 sqft. It also consists of a pool and recreational center in the terrace. The building was completed in 2015. Firm & Architect: Vishwannath & Associates , Ar. Vishwannath. Job Title: Architectural Intern. Terrace Plan-Presentation Drawing Job Responsibility: Creation and modifications of plans, elevations and sections, making presentation model, preparing accurate working drawings to be used on site and designing the interior spaces. Materials: Worked with RCC construction (Reinforced Cement Concrete) Lessons Learnt: The various stages of Concrete construction from excavation, to building foundations to creating floors using post and lintel system, learnt to make professional working drawings, learnt about building, fire and accessibility codes.

Apartments, Naya Raipur, India

Conceptual Model About Project: The Naya Raipur Residential Complex was a competition project part of the Development Program of the city of New Raipur. This residential unit was made up of three levels of parking followed by apartments on the higher levels. This Building consists of 3, 2 and 1 BHKs. Design Concept: The aim was to design a dynamic yet economical structural with efficient use of space. Hence the parking became a part of the buildings the parking had a green roof, the building wrapped around the cul-de-sac, buildings facing inwards and outwards were connected by a spacious corridor. The design was selected as the winner of the competition.

3BHK Apartment Plan Firm & Architect: Vishwannath & Associates , Ar. Vishwannath. Job Title: Architectural Intern/ Associate Designer. Job Responsibility: Brainstorming Design Ideas with senior architects, designing the interior rooms and spaces of certain parts of the structure, creating conceptual model and presentation drawings. Materials: Worked with RCC construction (Reinforced Cement Concrete) Lessons Learnt: Minimum Space standards required to design various kinds of apartments (from 3 to 2 BHKs), Professional creation of presentation drawings especially for competition projects and rendering drawings using adobe creative suite. Tools Used: Conception Sketches, AutoCad, Sketch-Up and Photoshop. 8

Oncology Hospital, Nashik, India

Site Plan

About Project: Oncology Hospital of 150 beds to be designed in Nashik, India. This was part of an academic design studio, the site complex consisted of the main building along with an auditorium for events and parking spaces for staff and visitors. Site Design: The site design was meant to be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing hence the inner road layout was designed in loops which would lead to various different entry points in the hospital (Main building, service and emergency) and will also connect to the auditorium and parking area. The loops would wrap around landscaped areas, the site on the south west region also had a water feature with seating area which was aesthetically pleasing and climatically soothing. Floor Plans A

Designer: Anulekha Chakraborty Design Concept: The idea was to design a functional structure which would allow unhindered flow of services. Hence the structure was broken down into smaller semiindependent units, and these units were connected by a central access zone as well as large gathering spaces with double height ceiling and good ventilation for a pleasing experience. Lessons Learnt: Management of services, design requirements for sterile areas and site management. Tools Used: Conception sketches, models, Computer softwares like AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and Photoshop.

Survey-Gandhi-Nu Gram, Bhuj, India

Gandhi-Nu Gram Existing Plan About Project: Gandhi-Nu-Gram is a small hamlet located in the Bhuj area of India, this place was badly affected by a massive earthquake in 2003, which destroyed many structures, after few years with government help the area redeveloped, the survey was conducted by a group of architecture students as a part of a summer workshop and each student individually proposed a design solution, based on the study. Survey: “Bhunga” (Traditional Mud House) was studied, site was surveyed, drawings were made, the socio-economic background, gender ratio and education level was studied along with the history and origin of the village. Job Responsibility: Conducting site survey, researching on building material and process used, researching the history and origin of the native tribe and collecting data of socioeconomic background.

Nubian Dome-Design Inspiration

Designer: Anulekha Chakraborty. Design Concept: The village layout along with the type of houses were redesigned. Each family with the same kind of occupation had their own cluster, the main street had a gathering area and was dynamic in nature and use of space. The houses were inspired from Nubian Dome Design, made with mudbricks suitable for the area. Lessons Learnt: Various kinds of mud architecture. Tools Used: Conception sketches, Computer softwares like AutoCad, Sketch-Up and Photoshop.

Primary Health Care Centre, Goa, India

3D Model About Project: P.H.C (Primary Health Care) Centre, academic design studio project was designed for a site in Goa, India. Design Concept: The idea was to break away from the norm of doubly loaded design with low light and ventilation problems, to create a more open and vibrant space. Hence the circular design was proposed with a semi-open gazebo in the center, and open corridor space, the main openings to the building was kept facing the south-west region which would allow the place to be breezy and pleasant all day. Lessons Learnt: Climatology, Ergonomics and Standards of Building Design. Tools Used: Conceptual Sketches, Models, Revit and ArchiCad.

Segregation of spaces to reduce crowding About Project: A Vertical Studio Workshop project to redesign the urban area of Godavari Ghat, Nashik which hosts a massive religious gathering known as “Kubh Mela� once in every 12 years in India. Teams were divided Vertically throughout various batches and each team worked with a professional architect for 3 days, the presentation was held on the last day. Design Concept: To solve issues of saturation of crowd, derelict structures and pollution, ideas like proper segregating of spaces, renovation of buildings to reflect traditional architectural styles and waste management was suggested. The entire building with all the architectural features were modeled along with Skylights and service staircases. Tools Used: Revit Architecture, Naviswork and BIM 360. About Structural and MEP Model: BIM Model of a building was made along with the structural details consisting of foundations, columns, joists and structural trusses. The Mechanical, Plumbing and electrical model was also made. Tools Used: Construction Drawings, Revit Architecture, Navis Works, BIM 360 and Microsoft office Excel (For Quantity Take-offs) Materials: Concrete and Steel Construction. 15

Classroom Building View About Project: Documentation of Joseph Williams School, Gainesville using BIM for energy efficiency model and management purposes. It was an academic group project. Job Responsibilities: Creating the complete architectural and structural model of two out of seven buildings in the total complex, creating renderings (exterior and interior) and creating animation videos and walkthroughs. Materials: Concrete Masonry Unit, Glass and Bricks Software Used: BIM Revit, Naviswork and BIM 360 and Revit Live Lessons Learnt: Building Information Management, The use of Revit Live for renderings, animations, walkthroughs and Virtual Reality.

About Project: The documentation and condition assessment of the Historic Hadwen House in Nantucket was a summer workshop at Preservation Institution Nantucket, The house was hand measured and the HABS Drawings were revised and updated. Job Responsibility: Hand Measure the exterior and interior of the house, help with material analysis and research about the architectural style. Lessons Learnt: Hand measurement and use of traditional hand measurement tools for documentation purpose, material analysis, creation of Historic Structures Report and Photogrammetry. Tools Used: Plummet, Measuring Tape, Laser Measure, Level Contour Gauge (All for Traditional Hand measurements) and AutoCAD for Graphical Representation. 18

University Lutheran Church, Gainesville

Site Plan About Project: The academic documentation project was to have a graphical record of the Modern-Style University Lutheran Church, located near University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. The church was built in the early 1960’s and had a significant style of architecture which made it worth preserving. The documentation was done according to HABS (Historic American Building Survey) standards. Job Responsibility: To draft every detail of the church using laser scanned images and CAD software, to study the intricate architectural features and construction details of the structure.. Lessons Learnt: History of the church and the importance of Modern Architecture in Florida, HABS Standard of documentation and Photogrammetry using drone. Tools Used: Laser Scan Images, Hand sketches, Construction drawings and AutoCAD.

About Project: Academic project to map the town of Gainesville in Alachua county and also show important road networks, geographical features and educational institutions. The map was created using the Raster features of GIS. Lessons Learnt: Urban Planning using GIS, identifying and making Maps with proper legends. Tools Used: Geographic Information System (GIS)

GIS Map of San Diego About Project: Academic project to map hospitals and schools of a particular region and to determine the distance of schools from various hospitals in the vicinity using Vector Data in GIS. The map represents region of San Diego, California. Lessons Learnt: Urban Planning using GIS, identifying and making Maps with proper legends, using information to create Vector Data. Preserve Modern Poster About Poster: Poster was made as an academic project to spread awareness about the various Modern Style Architecture present in Gainesville the case study chosen was the Fine Arts building at the University of Florida. Lessons Learnt: Modern Architecture and the its influence in Gainesville, Researching and filling out the National Register Form of Historic Places and creating awareness about significant architecture. Tools Used: Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Photoshop and Picasa.

HBIM for Mid-Century Modern- ULC Poster Design About Poster: Poster presented in the 3D Digital Documentation summit hosted by NCPTT in New Orleans, 2017 was about the use of BIM technology for documentation and management of Mid-Century Modern Buildings, the University Lutheran Church, Gainesville, Florida was the case study, the poster was a joint effort co-presented by Anulekha Chakraborty and her classmate Marla Holden.
