TERMS Anzor Fasteners Limited (“Anzor”) and the customer accept that placement by the customer of any order with Anzor is an acknowledgment by the customer that the contract between the customer and Anzor is to the extent permitted by law on the terms contained in these conditions of trade; These terms and conditions shall constitute the entire terms and conditions of a contract with Anzor. All other conditions, warranties, descriptions, representations, conditions as to fitness or suitability for any purpose, tolerance to any conditions, merchantability or otherwise and whether express or implied by law, trade, custom or otherwise are expressly excluded. PAYMENT Unless otherwise agreed payment is due on the 20th of the month following receipt of goods. Without prejudice to its rights to sue for payment or exercise any other remedy where any payment is not made on the due date Anzor may: (a) Re-invoice the goods at the then current full retail price; and (b) Charge the customer interest on the amount outstanding at the rate of 1.5% per month calculated daily from the due date of payment until payment is received by the company. The charging of interest does not extend the time for payment or imply any forbearance to sue or otherwise prevent recovery of overdue monies; and (c) Demand payment of the arrears as well as payment in advance for any undelivered goods before proceeding or making any further delivery of goods. The customer agrees that if the customer defaults in paying any account the customer shall pay on demand all costs, charges and legal expenses (including Anzor’s costs on a solicitor and own client basis) and including any collection costs incurred by Anzor in recovering payment from the customer. PRICES Prices shown are exclusive of GST. Unless otherwise advised prices quoted are on an “ex warehouse” basis and freight charges are in addition to any price for goods. Prices shown in the standard catalogue are the retail prices and a trade discount is available (Category ‘C’ products are excluded, as they are nett prices). The trade discount may however be rescinded at the suppliers option for late payment. POA – Price on Application Special nett prices are available for bulk orders. Anzor’s prices are subject to alteration without notice and the price payable by the customer for the goods ordered shall be the price agreed to between Anzor and the customer or in the absence of such agreement the price prevailing at the date the goods are despatched. The customer should confirm prices before ordering. DELIVERIES The customer must notify Anzor if the customer does not receive any order within 7 working days of the order being given by the customer to Anzor. This is to enable Anzor to resupply the order and contact the freight company concerned in order to process a claim within the courier’s claim period. If the customer fails to give notice within such period then Anzor may require the customer to pay for the goods even if the goods have not been received by the customer; Where Anzor acknowledges an order which provides for delivery by instalments Anzor shall be entitled to payment for each instalment delivered (as if it were a separate contract) and failure to deliver any instalment shall not entitle the customer to repudiate the contract as to any instalments already delivered or any remaining instalments;

Any delivery times provided by Anzor are estimates made in good faith and are not a commitment or a binding contract to deliver by a specified time and Anzor is not bound by such estimates; If the customer fails or refuses or indicates to Anzor that the customer will fail or refuse to take or accept delivery, the goods shall be deemed delivered when Anzor was willing to deliver them; Anzor may withhold delivery at any time for any reason; Proof of delivery will not be required from Anzor more than 60 days after the date of invoicing. Anzor shall not be liable to the customer for any loss or damage directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with any delay in delivery of the goods or failure to deliver goods whether such delay or failure is caused directly or indirectly by Anzor for any reason beyond its control, or by an act of god, fire, armed conflict, labour dispute, civil commotion or intervention of government or otherwise.

5. RETURNS 5.1. (a) Goods will only be accepted for credit if returned in accordance with these conditions and are returned within 14 days of date of delivery accompanied by a request for credit quoting the original invoice/packing slip number, the purchase order number, date and reason for return. 5.1. (b) Prior notification of the return of goods is required and the acceptance of such goods does not imply an agreement to issue a credit note. 5.2 Returns are subject to inspection and approval and will attract a handling and restocking charge. Freight will be at the expense of the customer unless the goods were supplied incorrectly. 5.3 No credit will be allowed for:5.3. (a) Goods which have been specially procured. 5.3. (b) Goods which are specially manufactured or cut to the specifications of the customer. 5.3. (c) Goods which have been used, modified or damaged. 6. 6.1

WARRANTIES AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Anzor does not warrant that any goods are fit for a particular purpose; 6.2 Unless specifically agreed in writing by Anzor: 6.2. (a) Anzor does not warrant any goods that have been to the extent permitted by law altered, repaired, installed, misused or modified in any way not previously approved in writing by Anzor; 6.2. (b) Where goods or services are provided for a business all warranties, descriptions, representations or conditions whether implied by law, trade, custom or the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or otherwise are expressly excluded; 6.2. (c) Anzor’s liability is limited to the cost of replacement or the repair of any products supplied by it so that its total liability will not exceed the price of the goods. 7.

INSPECTION BY CUSTOMER The customer will open and check all goods supplied and report any alleged discrepancy with details of the invoice number and specifics of the claim, in writing within 7 days of the date of delivery. Any claims made outside this time will not be accepted for credit.

RETENTION OF TITLE Ownership and title to the goods shall not pass to the customer until Anzor has received payment in full of all monies owing by the customer to Anzor; 8.2 Risk of any loss, damage or deterioration of the goods shall pass to the customer on delivery of the goods to the customer’s premises. 8.3 The customer acknowledges that until title to the goods passes to the customer in accordance with this clause: 8.3. (a) The customer holds the goods as bailee of Anzor and that a fiduciary relationship exists between the customer and Anzor;

ANZOR’S CONDITIONS OF TRADE 8.3. (b) The customer shall store the goods separately and in a manner so that they are clearly identified as the property of Anzor. 8.3. (c) Anzor shall be entitled at any time to demand the return of the goods and shall be entitled without notice to the customer and without liability to the customer to enter any premises occupied by the customer to search for and remove the goods and the customer hereby authorises Anzor to enter the customer’s premises for such purpose and waives all and any rights that it might otherwise have against Anzor for any such entry and removal of the goods. 9.

REPRESENTATION OF PRODUCT IN CATALOGUE AND OTHER INFORMATION While the information (including product pictures) in the Easyfast catalogue endeavours to be accurate, specific details/features may vary from that which is represented. If your specifications are critical, please ask for clarification. Anzor will not be liable in the case where loss arises as a result of goods being different from that which to the extent permitted by law is represented in the Easyfast catalogue and other information. SUPPLY OF STAINLES STEEL GRADES Most manufacturers will manufacture in a stainless steel that is very close to 304 and/or 316 in composition but which may have certain small differences to enhance ease of production. Such grades in the case of 304 are AISI 302HQ, AISI 305 AISI 303, AISI 301, AISI 304L, A1, A2 and A3; and in the case of 316 are 316L, A4, A5, 316LHiMo; and Anzor may at its option supply these without prior notification. Due allowance shall be made by the customer for variations as a result of manufacturer’s tolerances and to the extent permitted by law Anzor does not accept any liability for such variations. NO WARRANTY AGAINST CORROSION While Anzor’s products are made from high quality materials, unless expressly stated to the extent permitted by law Anzor does not offer any warranties regarding its product’s resistance to corrosion. PRIVACY By accepting these conditions and any guarantee the customer and any guarantor agree and authorise Anzor to: Obtain from any person or company any information (including credit information) that Anzor may require for the purpose of, or as the result of any sales by Anzor; and Disclose to any third party details of these conditions (including any credit application) and any subsequent dealings including any defaults and payments which are more than 30 days overdue. GUARANTEE AND INDEMNITY Any guarantors agree that: Each guarantor personally jointly and severally guarantees payment to Anzor of all and any sums owed by the customer to Anzor pursuant to these conditions including all payments due pursuant to the above condition 1; and These conditions bind any guarantor; No granting of time waiver or indulgence to the customer or failure to recover from the customer shall release any guarantor; and As between any guarantor and Anzor each and every guarantor shall be deemed to be a principal debtor and indemnifies Anzor for any loss suffered and all sums payable to Anzor.

SECURITY AND THE PERSONAL PROPERTY SECURITIES ACT 1999 14.1 Immediately upon signing any application for credit, the customer grants and creates in favour of Anzor: (a) A purchase money security interest (APMSI@) in Anzor’s goods with the meaning of the Personal Properties Securities Act 1999 (APPSA@) and;

(b) The right to register a financing statement under the PPSA for all Anzor’s goods (and for which express purpose credit has been extended) to create a purchase money security interest (Asecurity interest@) as that term is defined in the PPSA on the terms contained in these conditions. 14.2 The customer agrees: (a) To pay Anzor’s costs of registration of a PMSI and that its accounts with Anzor may be charged with the cost of registration of the PMSI and all other costs associated with perfection and enforcement of the PMSI (including Anzor’s full solicitor/own client costs). (b) That the PMSI is to extend to the proceeds of any sale of Anzor’s goods, any book debts arising where the customer has sold but not paid for Anzor’s goods and where Anzor’s goods have been mixed with any other goods a proportionate share of the mixed goods. 14.3 To the extent permitted by law and so far as permitted by s107 of the PPS Act by these conditions (a) The customer contracts out of and waives the customer’s rights under s114, s120 and s133 of the PPSA including the right to receive any notices. (b) The customer waives its rights to receive a verification statement in respect of any financing statement or financing change statement registered by Anzor. (c) The customer agrees to Anzor exercising its rights under s109 and s120 concurrently and to Anzor retaining any repossessed goods immediately so that Anzor’s rights under s123 of the PPSA shall become effective immediately upon repossession. (d) The customer agrees that repossession and retention of Anzor’s goods under s120 -123 of the PPSA will only satisfy so much the customer’s debt to Anzor as is equivalent to Anzor’s estimation of the market value of Anzor’s goods in the condition Anzor’s goods are in at the date of repossession (after deducting Anzor’s costs in repossessing) and the repossession and retention will immediately extinguish any rights and/or interest the customer has in Anzor’s goods. 14.4 The customer indemnifies Anzor for any claims (including legal costs) against Anzor including any claims as a result of any default by the customer, for Anzor’s repossession and retention and any attempts to repossess retain or enforce Anzor’s rights in relation to goods supplied by Anzor and for any claims brought by any third party. 14.5 The customer acknowledges that Anzor may allocate any monies it receives from the customer towards debts, charges and expenses (including legal costs incurred by Anzor) in any priority Anzor determines to maintain the PMSI in goods supplied by Anzor. 15.

SERVICE Service may be affected by either party, by leaving documents at the registered office or the other party’s last known address or last known delivery address or by post by registered letter addressed to that party at any such address or by delivering any document to any person who is named on any public register or as a director. If a party changes its address it shall notify the other party of the change of address and until it does so service may be validly affected at the last address as known in accordance with this clause.

16.

GENERAL MATTERS The customer shall do all things necessary including sign all documents and provide all information necessary to provide Anzor with any rights and security referred to in these conditions and to give effect to and protect Anzor’s rights under these conditions.

Guide to using Stainless Steel Fasteners Helping you maintain the look and performance of stainless fasteners. ABOUT STAINLESS STEEL AND THE COMMON GRADES (304 & 316) • Stainless Steel has a naturally occurring protective film on its surface called “chromium oxide”. Nickel (in both 304 & 316) and Molydenum (in 316) improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. • 316 is more corrosion resistant than 304. • 304 is generally what the building code requires (except in some Geothermal zones). • The general rule-of-thumb is: use 316 if in a corrosive environment (e.g. salt in the air) and the stainless steel product is ‘on show’. BEWARE OF LOW NICKEL STAINLESS STEEL • We are aware of low-nickel stainless fasteners on the market. They are ‘below spec’ and more susceptible to rusting. • Anzor only deals with high quality, reputable suppliers. We also have a material testing programme to provide quality assurance. BENEFITS OF STAINLESS STEEL • Durable - required by the Building Code (for 50 years durability). • Delivers good value-for-money as it outlasts zinc/ galvanizing – overall a lower cost through the entire life-cycle. • Attractive appearance – its look can be maintained. • 100% recyclable. THE ENVIRONMENT • This can have a significant impact on stainless steel’s performance. • If you are in the sea-spray zone or subject to saltblow, and the fastener is ‘onshow’, then we would suggest 316 grade. • Exposure to rainwater is helpful – this should wash the salt and pollutants off the stainless steel. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE • Stainless Steel products ‘on show’ need to be cleaned to maintain their appearance. • See our Cleaning Guidelines at www.anzor.co.nz for further advice.

THE FINISH The smoother or more polished the finish, the better the corrosion resistance. Some stainless products have a brushed or ‘rougher’ finish – e.g. sometimes on hinges, fittings, downpipes. This can risk ‘tea-staining’, giving a rusty appearance. Electro-polishing or passivating (forms of acid treatment) improve corrosion resistance. All stainless steel fasteners supplied by Anzor are passivated. NB: Anzor stocks 316 Electro-polished Butt Hinges. GALVANIC CORROSION This is where two dissimilar metals react and cause corrosion. For example, Lead flashings on a Zincalume roof. Galvanic corrosion is a risk with stainless steel and/or other metals. We recommend investigating situations where you have concerns related to possible Galvanic corrosion. AVOID CONTAMINATION FROM TOOLS This is where your tools pass on minute contaminants (e.g. iron filings). These rust on the surface of the stainless steel and kick-start corrosion. Reducing the risk of this: • Drive/Screw Tips should be Chrome Vanadium steel (Anzor stocks). • Allen Keys should be Hardened-Chrome plated (Anzor stocks). • Cutting Wheels should be made from Aluminum Oxide, be ‘Iron’ or ‘Carbon’ ‘free’, or be labeled “For Stainless Steel”. • Hammers should be good quality Hardened-Steel or Hardened-Chrome plated. NB: these tools should be kept just for stainless steel. LUBRICATING THREADS Top stainless fastener engineers recommend all stainless steel threads should be lubricated before being assembled, to reduce the risk of galling (this is when threads lock up). We have found the most risk of galling is with larger threads, and also when using Nyloc nuts. We suggest ‘Prolan’ or ‘Nickel Anti-Seize’ lubricants (Anzor stocks).

Guide to using Stainless Steel Fasteners Cleaning & Maintenance of Stainless Steel Introduction For the preservation of stainless steel Anzor strongly recommends regular maintenance. The following provides a guide to preserving stainless – please be aware of this yourself and also pass it on to your customers. If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact your local branch. EXTERIOR Like all surfaces, stainless steel requires cleaning to remove dirt and grime to keep them in pristine condition. The level of cleaning and maintenance depends primarily on the environment. In some exterior instances normal rain washing is sufficient, e.g. roofing, but more polluted or corrosive environments, e.g. coastal situations, the surfaces require regular washing to retain their good looks. The type of finish can also influence the cleaning requirements, and it is recommended that the rougher the surface the more regularly cleaning is required. For example, Stainless Steel Wire has a rough surface that harbours corrosive agents which causes discolouration relatively quickly. Regular cleaning is required to remove this. A corrosion inhibitor such as “Prolan” liquid or aerosol applied with a soft cloth will aid in corrosion prevention (stocked by anzor). Coastal situations – Discolouration or tea staining most commonly occurs within 5 kilometres of the coast and becomes progressively worse closer to the water. Note that in situations right on the seafront, it is recommended that cleaning is performed once a month. INTERIOR

After initial installation, the stainless steel will require thorough cleaning to remove any adhesive – either from the protective coating or other building operations – that may have been left on the surface. If marks such as fingerprints etc are a continuous problem a light surface coating of baby oil, clear silicone wax polish or furniture polish such as Neopol will help prevent recurrence of this problem. Care should be taken on choosing such a product to be used on the surface of stainless steel if clothing is likely to come into contact with the surface. PRECAUTIONS Harsh abrasives should never be used on any polished metal surface. Strong mineral acids such as hydrochloric and sometimes hydrofluoric acid are used to clean masonry, but these should never be permitted to come in contact with stainless steel or any other metal work. If this should happen, the acid solution should be washed off immediately with plenty of water. Pads of ordinary steel wool incorporating soap should be avoided – there is a danger that particles of plain carbon steel from the pads may be left behind after rinsing to give unsightly rust stains. Never use oil based commercial cleaners on the outside of a building. The residual oil film can result in unwanted iridescent colours on stainless steel which can only be removed by abrasive action.

Dirt and grease accumulate from many sources. They can usually be removed by routine cleaning using soap, ammonia or detergent and fresh warm water. It should be noted that nearly all abrasive cleaners will scratch bright polished stainless steel surfaces. On other finishes the cleaners should only be used in the direction of the polish.

Most stainless steel installed at a construction site has a PVC protection film on it. This should remain on the steel until the last possible moment to protect the surface of the stainless steel from such problems as chemical and concrete splatters.

A clean, dust and grit free cloth should be used to avoid scratching.

The majority of Anzor’s products are offered in both 316 Marine Grade Stainless, applicable to coastal environments, and also 304 generally for Interior applications or in low corrosive environments.

In all cases the mildest cleaning procedure that will do the job efficiently should be used, e.g. wash down with warm fresh water and washing up liquid followed by a wash of clean warm water only followed by wiping dry with a clean absorbent cloth.

For textured and rigidized finishes a nylon bristled brush will remove any dirt and grime which may accumulate in the valleys of the textured finish. If “Tean Staining” or rush is present, stainless steel can be cleaned with Grunt Emergel (stocked by anzor).

GRADES OF ANZOR’S PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Guide to using Stainless Steel Fasteners Cleaning & Maintenance of Stainless Steel Guidelines for Fabricators/Installers Recommend to your clients to wash the surface regularly – see below Weld Treatment – pickling treatments after welding are a must for good performance of stainless steel. This chemical treatment removes the welding oxide and rapidly restores the passive layer, which gives stainless steel its corrosion resistance. Cutting Stainless Steel – an aluminum oxide cutting wheel/blade should be used. Design, Fabrication and Handling – poor design and fabrication can lead to tea staining or more serious corrosion. For example, good designers will avoid crevices, such as intermittent welds and areas where water can collect. Competent stainless steel fabricators will avoid carbon contamination. Choose designers and fabricators experience with stainless steel. Installation and Inspection – after installation the completed structure should be inspected for surface imperfections or contaminants. If discovered, imperfections should be removed and the corrosion resistance chemically restored by pickling or passivating treatments or by electropolishing. Hydrchloric acid which is sometimes used to clean cement or mortar residues should not be used on stainless steel. Installation Tools -

Appropriate grade selection – grade 316 should be selected within 5 km of the coast. Specify and insist on a smooth surface finish – to minimise the risk of discolouration, the smoother the

surface finish the better. A surface roughness (Ra) of less than 0.5 micrometres is strongly recommended. A No.4 finish is not adequate. Typically, refinishing operations using 320 abrasives would achieve a finish better than 0.5 micrometres Ra. Components used near the sea can be made more resistant to tea staining by pickling to remove surface contaminants, electropolishing is even more effective. However, it must be noted that both processes can change the surface appearance – pickling tends to dull polished surfaces while electroplating will brighten surfaces. Chemically treat the welds – Best resistance to tea staining is achieved with a finish polished to 320 grit or finer, but linished or pickled finishes (only) maybe adequate for less critical applications. Where a linished finish is desired, 320 grit (or finer) silicon carbide abrasives should be used with lubrication if possible. In these circumstances a passivation treatment (nitric acid only) should be applied to the ground/polished area. In selecting abrasives consideration should be given to matching the surrounding finish. Where linishing is not performed, pickling of site welds (using mixed acids – hydrofluoric plus nitric) should take place as a final step in the weld procedures. This treatment will remove any fabrication contaminants and restore the passive chromium oxide layer, resulting in a corrosion resistant surface. BI-METAL (commonly used) Head and thread of screw is 304 SS, tip is steel. Whole screw coated with Ruspert 500 hour salt spray resistant coating.

HARDTEC/MARUTEX (premium material) These screws are made from proprietory materials designed to provide better performance than the common “Bi-metal” or “410” alternatives.

They are entirely stainless (as opposed to Bi-Metal), and have a corrosion resitance similar to 304 SS, and better than the 410 material commonly used for Self Drilling screws.

They are hardened (which 304 and 316 can’t be) to enable drilling into metals.

Timber to Timber - Timber to Concrete - Timber to Steel MiTek manufactures and markets the range of LUMBERLOK Timber Connectors for the building industry. Each product has been designed and developed to meet the needs and changes to building methods, and is tested to conform with the relevant NZ Standards. These include NZS 3603:1993 for timber design and NZS 3604:1999 Timber Framed Buildings. LUMBERLOK products are distributed nationwide, and are available from leading Builders Supply Merchants and Hardware outlets throughout New Zealand.

LUMBERLOK

ANGLE BRACE & ‘T’ SECTION BRACE Angle Brace may be used as either compression or tension brace. Nail holes are fully punched for ease of nailing. Minimum nail size 60mm x 3.15mm diameter. When used as a diagonal wall brace, it should be secured at each end with three nails, and two nails at each stud crossing. Standard length is 3.6m, other sizes available on request (2.7m - 5.0m). Angle brace can be used as an anti-sag mechanism for purlins or girts. ‘T’ Section Brace is an alternative to Angle Brace and requires a shallower cut into stud face. This profile usually eliminates the checking out of studs and is fixed as per Angle Brace. Standard lengths available 3.0m - 4.5m. Refer to Characteristic Loadings Brochure for design values.

STRIP BRACE

0.6mm x 27mm G550 Z275 .91mm x 25mm G300 (Export only) Strip Brace is supplied either in 30 or 10 metre coils for use as bracing or in short lengths as a jointing material. Strip Brace provides an ideal bracing system for walls, or roof plane. One crossed pair of strips may be used in each location where a diagonal brace is required. Fix using 5 x 30mm x 3.15mm diameter flat head nails at each end. Tensioners are available separately if required. Refer to Characteristic Loadings Brochure for design values. This product has been developed for commercial building situations as an alternative to steel rod or timber as a bracing element. The 53mm wide x 1.0mm thick steel coils are available in lengths of 10m, 15m and 30m punched to allow the easy fixing, using 11 x 30mm x 3.15mm diameter flat head nails at each end. Both these products comply with NZS 3604:1999 as a fixing method for timber piles to bearers to joists. The 12kN product pack is suitable for both Anchor and Brace pile situations whilst the 6kN pack is used with cantilever piles. Manufactured from extruded aluminium, the closet rail enhances wardrobe appearances and also provides additional support strength to the closet shelf. *BOTTOM PLATE FIXING ANCHOR Ingenious product designed to fix timber wall frames down onto concrete slab floors. Bottom Plate Anchors are temporarily fixed to the perimeter boxing at 900mm centres max. prior to the concrete pour, and folded around the bottom plate when the frames are located. Nails are then applied to secure the frames in position. Alternative to concrete bolts, or the drilling of bottom plates and lifting of frame over steel rods previously located in floor slab. LUMBERLOK

This product has been developed to complement the Bottom Plate Anchor, where concrete header blocks are used to form the concrete slab perimeter. The product is clipped onto the block edge at 900mm centres max. and left until the slab is poured and frames ready to stand up. The tongue is then lifted up off the surface and folded around the bottom plate for nailing. Refer to brochure for application data. Available in Stainless Steel 304.

Characteristic loads shown are ultimate limit state. Loads printed have been tested using wet and dry timber in various orientations and the lower values have been published. Loads have been devised from the results of a series of tests on representative samples of full scale test specimens, using 45mm x 3.3 Annular Grooved nails.

DURABILITY

Due to the variations in end use and in particular the environments in which these products could be used, we are unable to provide a specific durability statement. In BRANZ opinion BDO 96/10 however, 304 stainless steel is not adversely affected by tanalith treatment and performs considerably better than hot dipped galvanised steel. In situations where the product could collect wind blown salt deposit not regularly rain washed away, the durability of 304 stainless material may be adversely affected. It is recommended therefore that a protective coating of grease or other suitable covering may prolong the life expectancy of the product. For these situations connectors must be visually inspected for signs of corrosion and a maintenance schedule adopted as required.
