RESUME




THE FALLS BREWERY COMPANY This brewery house is located at Broadway street, Cottonwood falls. This building complex which combine brewery and public house together is aiming to provide people a place to have food and experience the brewery process. The falls brewery house project is designed to focus on three main targets: site relationship, interior and exterior relationship, separate the circulation of private and public.

BEER RACK ON FIRST FLOOR

DAY LIGHT AND VENTILATION

The public occupied spaces are designed to be opened to the exterior. A curtain wall on the east facade allows people to experience the beauty of cuttonwood falls and have a street view while dining. Openings on the west facade will help bring the required nature light into private space, and also ventilation for the brewery space. The main entrance is located on the east side of the building, which is designed for public. people can also access the building from the exterior drinking space. A circulation bar is designed for delivery and brewery staff, which is located on the west side of the building. kegs, grains and food can be delivered to each floor via the wlwvator, which is also easily accessible for disabled.

CIRCULATION THERE ARE TWO CIRCULATION BARs LOCATED ON EAST AND WEST SIDE, WHICH CONNECTS THE MARKET AND HEALTH CENTER AND ENABLES PEOPLE MOVE FROM 1ST FLOOR TO 5TH FLOOR. THE EAST CIRCULTION BAR IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENTRY ON LAFAYETTE STREET SO THAT PEOPLE CAN GO TO THE HEALTH CENTER WITHOUT CIRCULATING THROUGH THE MARKET PLACE.

SERVICE AREA A’ B’

THE SERVICE BAR IS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH WEST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, WITH THE LOADING AREA ON THE FIRST FLOOR WHERE TRUCKS CAN REVERSE INSIDE TO LOAD AND UNLOAD. RECEPTION ROOMS AND OFFICES ARE ON 2ND TO 5TH FLOOR. THIS AREA IS SEPRARATE FROM THE PUBLIC BY A CURVED STRUCTURE WALL. BUT IT IS STILL EASY TO MOVE THROUGH SINCE ITS NEXT TO THE WEST CIRCULATION BAR.

PUBLIC GATHERING AREA IT CONTAINS A PUBLIC EDUCATION SPACE FOR THE HEALTH CENTER, COMMON SPACE FOR THE MARKET AND A ROOF TOP COFFEE SHOP. AND THESE THREE PARTS ARE SEPERATED BY PARTITION WALLS. THIS SPACE CAN BE REACHED BY BOTH CIRCULATION BARS AND A STAIR STARTS FROM THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE MARKET SPACE GOING UP ALONG THE FRONT FACADE. THIS SPACE HAS THE BEST VIEW SO THAT PEOPLE ARE ENTICED TO SPEND MORE TIME INSIDE THE MARKET.

TOPEKA MINOR LEAGUE STADIUM IS LOCATED ON SW VAN BUREN ST. AND SW 2ND STREET. THIS STADIUM IS ALSO DESIGNED TO BE A PARK WHEN IT IS NOT IN THE GAME SEASON. THE CONCEPT FOR THE STADIUM IS TO CREATE A NEW CENTER LINE TOGETHER WITH THE KANSAS STATE CAPITOL BUILDING, WHICH HELPS TO LEAD A DIRECTION OF CITY DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS THE NORTH SIDE OF THE KANSAS RIVER. ALSO, THE STADIUM DISTRICT IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE. THE STADIUM DISTRICT, FROM NW HARRISON ST. TO N KANSAS AVENUE, FROM SW 2ND STREET TO THE RIVER BANK, IS A PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY AREA.


TOPEKA CITIZENS ARE ABLE TO SPEND THEIR WEEKEND IN THE PARK BESIDE THE BASEBALL STADIUM, AND ALSO ABLE TO TAKE A CRUISE TO ENJOY THE KANSAS RIVER VIEW. THE BASEBALL STADIUM UTILIZES VEGETATION AND TRANSPARENCY TO BLUR THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN SITE AND CONTEXT. WATER PONDS ON BOTH THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF THE STADIUM ENHANCE THE ENTRY WAYS. GEO THERMAL UNITS ARE PLACED UNDERNEATH THE PONDS TO MAKE THE HVAC COOLING PROCESS MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY. OPENED CONCOURSE ON SECOND FLOOR HELPS WITH AIR VENTILATION AND ALLOW PEOPLE TO HAVE A BETTER VIEW OF THE BASEBALL FIELD. CONCOURSE IS LOCATED ON BOTH 1ST AND 2ND FLOOR. LOADING DOCK IS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE BUILDING, ACCESS TO THE EXTRA SEATING AREA. GREEN ROOFS CONNECT BOTH ENDS OF SUITE LEVEL.
