Greetings Unicorns!

Welcome to our first edition of the Lime Crime Beauty Bible!

We are thrilled to present the first edition of our new beauty magazine, which is a glimpse of the Lime Crime Universe we have created. For all those unicorns who are new to Lime Crime, it was created in 2008 by the mother of the unicorns herself, Doe Deere. Mama Unicorn created this brand because she was lacking fun and exciting makeup that fit her personality. Thus Lime Crime was born with the unconventional colors of the Unicorn Lipsticks line that stood out from any other brand in the market with its distinct colors that brighten up any dull outfit. Doe Deere has always been a trendsetter and introduced the Velevetines, liquid to matte lipsticks in 2012. For all those unicorns that care, Lime Crime is a cruelty-free vegan makeup brand, so you don’t have to feel guilty for standing out, looking good and expressing yourself. 
For this Beauty Bible we went on a galactic daydream and wanted to explore the mystical aspects of the 12 zodiac signs and their individuality. We were also inspired by the four elements of nature: earth, fire, water and air and present fun and exciting make up looks using all Lime Crime products. For this edition of the Beauty Bible we wanted to discover the enchanted world of the zodiacs and what they represent.

In the past Lime Crime had a glitter product line named after each zodiac sign. We decided to bring it back and create a universe in which each zodiac sign is represented thru unique charmed makeup looks. We incorporated the latest trends in makeup and added a little touch of our Lime Crime magic into these special looks. We wish to be an inspiration for our unicorns and unicorns-tobe by crafting eccentric makeup looks that makes each and everyone of them stand out in a crowd of black and white. Dare to be different unicorns and pave your own path. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did all along the process!

Without him this project would have never been possible. Not to mention he had to deal with a stressed out Fashion Marketing and Management senior student (Amanda Pagan) who had to dream up, design, coordinate, procure, and organize 12 different looks with a very tight budget and deadline. I don’t think anyone else would have shot four looks per day and stick by my side every step of the way, especially with the countless obstacles we encountered along the way.

Finally, How can I write this without tears streaming down my face? I want to thank Laura Casal, my amazing and talented friend since high school and all throughout college. Friends like her are very hard to come by. I want to thank her for understanding and translating my vision and dreams by creating these beautiful looks for my magazine.

Magazines, Pinterest, Instagram, runway shows! I saw all of these amazing looks that are really works of art on the body and face! It’s really an accessory and I love the concept that you can evoke a mood with the makeup that would wear!

How did you start doing makeup?

My makeup collection started growing, so I started to experiment with more runway inspired avant-garde looks. My friends liked it so I started doing their makeup, and I also have a photographer friend (the featured photographer) whom I started doing the makeup for his shoots and people started noticing and contacting me to do theirs!

How did you learn?

Binge watching tutorials on Youtube and a lot of trial and error.

Thank you, Nikki tutorials, Manny MUA, Jeffree Star and pretty much every makeup guru Youtuber out there.

What inspired you to be a MUA? I love anything that involves arts and crafts, painting, sewing, and once I got my hands on colorful makeup palettes and lipsticks, I got motivated to try it! I used to do my own makeup, play dress up and then take it off and do my makeup again, just for fun. I’m 22, by the way ha ha!

Favorite zodiac look and why?

This shoot was so much fun! I loved every look, but my favorite has to be Virgo. I feel like the model captured the essence of what we where going for. I did a Galiano inspired look on her.

She looked like a renaissance painting. I used the Zenon velvetine on her lids to create a gold leaf effect.

Favorite LC product at first and now Velvetines forever. I’m just so clumsy, and these things just stay on forever!

My fave is Faded and Saint.
