One way to plan your bridal breakfast menu is to think of the “plant-forward” concept. This eating pattern focuses on foods that are primarily from plants. According to the American Heart Association, plant-forward is a style of cooking and eating that emphasizes plant-based foods but is not strictly limited to them. Meat may be included in plant-forward eating, but it’s usually not the main feature of the meal. During the past several years, plant forward menu options have become a trend among wedding planning. Many brides are opting for healthier menus for their big day, starting with breakfast.
The health benefts of eating a plant-forward diet are limitless. Not only do these foods provide vitamins, minerals, and fber, but they also lower the risk of developing coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and some cancers. Day-to-day benefts of eating plant-forward include healthier immune systems and skin and improved energy levels.
One example of a plant-forward recipe that will tempt your taste buds is a mouthwatering slice of Crustless Roasted Vegetable
Bake. The beauty of this recipe is that any veggie that you can roast can be substituted in the dish. You can also use squash varieties, tomatoes or eggplant. Herbs, such as rosemary, basil, and oregano are another great way to add variety to the recipe. Top it of with olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or marinated artichokes to make it even more favorful. Whichever variation you choose, try balancing it with a fresh Apple Walnut Salad (or other favorite salad) to make it a combination to remember. Take care of yourself and enjoy your special moments. Happy Wedding Day!
