Help For Your Self-Survey 1) Decide the location for your charge point, close to where you will park your car when it charges. 2) Find the main electrical distribution board, all houses have at least one. Please take a detailed photo of the board(s). We need to be able to determine that there is a spare way on the board(s) for the charger to be connected. If you are unsure regarding the earthing and bonding (see page 6) we will be happy to assist - but for the purposes of the initial self-survey this is not a determining factor. 3) Measure the distance from the distribution board to the location you’ve earmarked for the charge point to be installed. Note the distance in metres. 4) Take a photo of where the car will be parked while charging and show / define where you want the charge point. 5) Provide us with your address. 6) Please complete this survey and send photos to info@apielectrical.co.uk using your name as a reference. 7) If you are leasing the car privately or if it is a company car we have included the necessary forms to complete at the end of this publication (ANNEX I (company car) and ANNEX J (private lease)

Page 6 Installation Criteria: Please identify each of the criteria set out below. If you’re unsure or have any questions about these then please contact us. info@apielectrical.co.uk - Tel:0161 327 2092

1. Main Property Consumer Unit/ Distribution Board

The main property consumer unit/distribution board must be a modern unit containing Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB’s), NOT rewirable fuses. At least one spare way is required for a new Miniature Circuit Breaker to be installed in a bank which isn’t RCD protected and we must be able to isolate the electricity supply for up to 2-hours. If this criteria is not met, further costs will need to be quoted in order to install a new EV charging dedicated Distribution Board

Do You Have Spare Way MCB On the Consumer Board?:THIS IS REQUIRED Does your property meet these criteria? YES NO

2. Earthing and Bonding

Before any electrical work can be undertaken at a property, suitable Earthing and Bonding must be determined. There must be a green/ yellow cable of sufficient size bonded to the incoming gas, water and oil (if applicable) supplies. There must also be a sufficiently sized main earth cable leading from the primary consumer unit to the incoming supply fuse cut-out or an earth electrode (if applicable). If this criteria is not met further costs and quotation are needed in order to upgrade the Earthing/Bonding to current BS7671 standards

Does your property meet these criteria? YES NO

3. Charging Station Location

The charging station must be located within 15m of the main property consumer unit/ distribution board and be wall mounted. The supply cable to the charging station must be able to be fixed externally to the property’s wall and not run underground at any point. If further remedial work is needed, further costs will be incurred in order to cover additional time and cable costs

Does your property meet these criteria? YES NO

Appendix Y - MPAN The installation of an electric vehicle charging station must be registered with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) after installation.

We are required to provide the Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) for the electricity supply that the charge point is connected to. This can be found on your electricity bill or requested from your electricity supplier. Sometimes this is shortened to the bottom (13 digit) row as shown below and to the right: Please complete your MPAN number in the OLEV ANNEX D documents provided for download http:// www.apiev.com/olevevhs-grant-access/ it is on the ENA Notification form on the second to last page

The registration number can be changed (private plate) but the vehicle identification number remains fixed for the life of the vehicle. We require either of these identification numbers to process the application. These can be most easily found on the V5 document or vehicle order form.
