Overview API ELECTRICAL are accredited by the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to access the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) to subsidise the cost of installing a residential electric vehicle charging station to owners/primary users of electric vehicles. In order to successfully obtain the grant several items of information are required both by the installer and the prospective customer in support of the application. This booklet is for customers to read and to fill out and send us the appropriate information to assist us with supplying an accurate quotation based on the confirmed information supplied to us. apielectrical.co.uk

Appendix X - Installation Criteria: Please identify each of the criteria set out below. If you’re unsure or have any questions about these then please contact us. 1. Main Property Consumer Unit/Distribution Board The main property consumer unit/distribution board must be a modern unit containing Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB’s), NOT rewirable fuses. At least one spare way is required for a new Miniature Circuit Breaker to be installed in a bank which isn’t RCD protected and we must be able to isolate the electricity supply for up to 2-hours. If this criteria is not met, further costs will need to be quoted in order to install a new EV charging dedicated Distribution Board Does your property meet these criteria? YES / NO 2. Earthing and Bonding Before any electrical work can be undertaken at a property, suitable Earthing and Bonding must be determined. There must be a green/ yellow cable of sufficient size bonded to the incoming gas, water and oil (if applicable) supplies. There must also be a sufficiently sized main earth cable leading from the primary consumer unit to the incoming supply fuse cut-out or an earth electrode (if applicable). If this criteria is not met further costs and quotation are needed in order to upgrade the Earthing/Bonding to current BS7671 standards Does your property meet these criteria? YES / NO 3. Charging Station Location The charging station must be located within 15m of the main property consumer unit/ distribution board and be wall mounted. The supply cable to the charging station must be able to be fixed externally to the property’s wall and not run underground at any point. Appendix Y - MPAN The installation of an electric vehicle charging station must be registered with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) after installation.
We are required to provide the Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) for the electricity supply that the charge point is connected to. This can be found on your electricity bill or requested from your electricity supplier. Sometimes this is shortened to the bottom (13 digit) row as shown below and to the right: Please complete MPAN fields below

Appendix Z - Vehicle Identification Each vehicle in the United Kingdom is given a unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and registration number (REG). The registration number can be changed (private plate) but the vehicle identification number remains fixed for the life of the vehicle. We require either of these identification numbers to process the application. These can be most easily found on the V5 document or vehicle order form.

Appendix J – Letter of authority template for leasing companies The letter template below should be used in cases where someone leases an eligible electric vehicle and wishes to access the EVHS grant. The text below should be included on company letter headed paper. Please ensure the customer name, address and the term of the lease and the date on which it started is included in the letter. Where the vehicle has been ordered, but not yet delivered and the Vehicle Registration Number and V5C Document reference number may not be known, then the expected delivery date should be given in the letter, together with name and address details and the duration of the lease. The leasing company or the driver may be contacted at a future date to confirm delivery and be asked to supply the missing details.
