Why choose our expertly designed entrance doors
We have two entrance door ranges; Core and Plus.
We pride ourselves on offering reliable performance, durability and the ability to customise across both ranges.
Core entrance doors are a popular option for homeowners nationwide, while Plus entrance doors offer improved thermal performance, larger panel sizes and additional features to enhance your home comfort or achieve an architectural finish.
The following pages outline the key features of each option. Your local manufacturer can help find the right option for you.
Core entrance doors
Core entrance doors encompass the quality, reliable performance and good-looks that we have built a reputation for delivering. These doors offer thermal performance, extensive configurations and customisation options.
Key features of our Core and Plus entrance doors
Low maintenance
Constructed from aluminium for reliability and high performance under a range of weather conditions, our doors are easy to clean and require little upkeep to keep them in top condition.
Thermal efficiency
The combination of the solid, premium grade foam inner core and the polyamide thermal insulator incorporated into the door frame insulates and prevents the transfer of hot and cold temperatures for greater thermal efficiency for your home.
Security
Multi locking technologies are available for the increased security of your home.
Durability
Our doors are expertly designed and built to last with the latest manufacturing technologies for maximum strength and stability, with little risk of the door swelling and warping in damp conditions.
Colour options
Using the colourfast technology of powdercoating, we have a wide selection of up-to-date colour and finish options available. The dual colour option allows you to choose different colours for both sides of your door to match the look of your internal and external colour schemes.
Acoustic performance
Our doors reduce the transfer of noise into your home.
Plus entrance doors
Upgrade to a Plus entrance door for a difference you can feel
The Plus range of doors is our most thermally efficient option and is available in a comprehensive selection of our most popular styles.
Now, you can achieve a new level of thermal performance with an R-Value increase of 28%* when you upgrade to a Plus range door. These doors incorporate a larger polyamide thermal insulator, dual seals and a wider solid high density foam core which all work together to reduce heat loss and improve weatherproofing for a difference you can feel. The Plus range is only compatible with the latest ThermalHeart+® frames.
In addition to the Core features, our Plus entrance doors offer these great features
Larger panel size capability
The Plus range employs more robust internal framing and a thicker foam inner core which increases the structural integrity and rigidity of the Plus doors, allowing for larger maximum sizes to be produced.
Improved thermal performance
The combination of a thicker inner core and a larger polyamide thermal insulator in Plus entrance doors further reduces the transfer of hot and cold temperatures to deliver greater thermal efficiency.
Enhanced four-point locking
Euro groove technology in Plus doors allows for taller doors to have additional points of engagement throughout the door, enhancing security. This also ensures the full height of the door is sealed.
Improved weatherproofing
Plus doors are designed with an overlapping frame which allows for dual seals; one being the traditional seal at the exterior edge in the frame, and then a secondary seal where the interior frame overlaps with the inside of the door panel further reducing air movement between outside and inside.
Plus door configurations with a glass insert are triple glazed with high performance AGP Low-E glass for enhanced thermal performance.
Disclaimer: R-Value increase is based on a Latitude Plus door compared to a Latitude Core door, configuration LAT00, 2150 x 860mm.

What
is an R-Value?
R-values refer to a material’s ability to conduct heat flow, or thermal resistance. The higher the R-value the better thermal resistance the product will provide. For the ultimate in thermal performance, the whole window system needs to work together to deliver thermal efficiency.
7 Steps to designing your perfect door
There are so many opportunities to customise your entrance door, you’re able to design a door that perfectly reflects your unique style and make any statement you like. To help narrow down your options we’ve outlined the key steps to consider.
STEP 1
Draw Inspiration
■ Browse hundreds of kiwi homes in our inspiration gallery
■ The gallery allows you to filter by entrances
Create a favourites account and heart the most inspiring photos
■ Review your favourites to find any common trends in your preferences.
STEP 2
Range
■ Each entrance door range has its own distinct characteristics; this is where you select the base door style that suits your home
Do you want a flat or panelised door?
Do you prefer a contemporary, architectural or traditional feel?
Consider upgrading to a Plus range door for the ultimate in thermal performance
Plus entrance doors are only compatible with the latest ThermalHeart+® frames.
STEP 3 Configuration
■ This step gives you the opportunity to refine your style preference
■ Some ranges allow for glazed inserts and negative detail
■ Consider if you’ll have a single panel, side lights or a French door configuration. Available configurations vary between ranges
■ Refer to page 46 for our entrance door configurations.
STEP 4
Surface finish
■ Consider your style preferences from earlier steps; do you want to make a statement or be understated?
■ Depending on the door range you’ve chosen, you’ll have an extensive range of powdercoat and woodgrain finishes to choose from
Powdercoat colours range from classic neutrals to bright pops of colour
■ Note: location and site conditions should be considered to ensure a suitable product and colour for your door. See surface finish details on pages 40-45 for selection tips.
STEP 5
Hardware
■ Complete the look of your door with hardware options that range from sleek, square, rounded or bold. Review the options on pages 24-39 and contact your local manufacturer for the full ranges or to see samples.
Consider the function of your hardware choice; is it easy for children or those with limited motor-function to operate?
■ Digital locks offer convenience with key-free locking and unlocking by pin entry, with smart options available. See options on pages 38-39.
STEP 6 Virtual home
■ Visit the Virtual Home tool on our website and bring your dream door to life. The tool takes you through each step outlined here, with the available options so you can select different combinations and see how they work together in real time.
■ You can then save your designs to share or send your selections to your local manufacturer to request a quote.
STEP 7 Get in touch
■ Visit our website to browse the ‘find an expert’ map of our manufacturers throughout New Zealand
■ Call to arrange an appointment in their showroom to view samples and discuss options

How to choose the right surface finish?
It is important that you choose the right product for the right application to ensure the life of your surface finish, and in some cases that your entrance door is covered under warranty.
Location
Some locations such as coastal or industrial locations require a higher grade finish. Your manufacturer will be able to advise you on suitable options.
Look at the palette of your home as a whole – you could choose a colour from this or choose one that makes a statement.
Dual colour
All of our doors are available in dual colour, with the exception of the Slimline and Commercial Plasma. This means you can match the look of your internal and external colour schemes, rather than having to pick one look for both sides of your door.
Exposure
Is your door exposed to prolonged direct sunlight? Refer to the bowing and heat note on page 45.
Swatch test
When you are choosing door colours, always assess swatches in natural light. Visit your local manufacturer to see samples.
What are the options?
Powdercoating
Powdercoating is a baked-on coating that’s tough and durable. As standard, our doors are coated in Protexture™. We have all of the Dulux powdercoat colours on offer, as well as more specific finishes.
Please ask your manufacturer for a colour brochure to see our full range of powdercoat options, including our range of popular colours.
Protexture™
A low sheen, textured surface finish highly resistant to marking and scuffing – specifically for use on entrance doors. Protexture is available in a wide range of colours and offers a 15-year film and colour integrity warranty. Feel the Protexture™ finish on page 45.
Note: there is a small number of colours supplied in the Duralloy Mannex Textured Range. This finish comes with a 10-year aluminium Durability Warranty and a 10-year aluminium Colour Warranty. Please speak with your manufacturer for the list of colours.
Intensity
There are six bold bright Matt colours in this Dulux Duratec range, ensuring excellent colour retention and are exceptionally hard wearing. The Dulux Duratec Intensity range offers a 15-year film and colour integrity warranty.
Glass Plasma colours
Glass Plasma doors are coloured with an opaque Colourback finish which gives a vivid, gloss look. There is a wide range of pre-set gloss colours to choose from or you can custom match to a colour from another source.
Woodgrain finish
This unique application gives the appearance of natural wood, with all the benefits of an aluminium door. The sublimated print replicates several popular woodgrain options. Our woodgrain finish offers a 15-year film and colour integrity warranty.

Bowing and heat
■ Dark colours may not be suitable for doors that are exposed to prolonged direct sunlight as this may cause the surface of the door to become hot to touch, so careful consideration needs to be made when choosing your entrance door colour/s.
■ Doors with a thermal polyamide strip built into them may experience slight temporary bowing due to the difference in temperature between the inside and outside of the door, especially when exposed to direct sunlight. We stress that this is only a temporary effect and the door will revert back to its normal shape as the aluminium cools. This may occur primarily with dark colours, so can be minimised by selecting lighter external colours or increasing cover over the door area.
Feel the finish on this door to give you an indication of this durable surface finish.
It will feel and look slightly different to powdercoating on the windows and doors in the rest of your home.
