Thermally efficient frames
High performance glass Centrafix™ installation
What is ThermalHeart+®?
It’s new thermal technology for windows and doors that almost doubles the performance of standard aluminium windows and doors1
This versatile system of thermally efficient frames and unique AGP System glass creates warmer, drier and healthier homes for both us and the environments we live in. When used with the innovative Centrafix™ installation option, thermal performance is further increased by over 20%2
35-50% of a home’s heat is lost from its windows and doors. Which is why we are introducing ThermalHeart+®. A range of code meeting, industry leading, thermally efficient products designed and made right here in New Zealand for exactly how we live.
¹ Comparison figures are based on complete thermal modelling of an average house lot of Metro Series ThermalHEART® products with The AGP System® double glazing using the WEERS modelling methodology. The benchmark figures were calculated by modelling the same average house lot of products using the equivalent non-thermally broken products glazed with standard double glazing. A “standard aluminium window or door” refers to a non-thermally broken aluminium frame with non-thermally improved double glazing.
² Centrafix™ comparison figures are based on complete thermal modelling of an average house lot of products installed in 90mm timber framing. The standard installation benchmark was calculated by modelling the same house lot of comparable products using a typical E2/AS1 cavity construction installation on 90mm timber framing.

State-of-the-art glass
Our insulated, high-performance system, The AGP System® works hard to reduce the amount of heat that passes through the glass while still letting natural light through, improving the thermal efficiency of a home.
What is The AGP System®?
The AGP System® is a double-glazed unit which is made using world class components and industry leading technology. The panes of glass are made using a highly automated, precision process to ensure their high quality.
Solux-E® or Solux-Ultra™
Solux-E® and Solux Ultra™ are low emissivity (Low-E) glass coating options, which are virtually invisible and are applied to the inside surface of the exterior glass pane, protecting it from the elements. Both options improve the level of insulation of the home by reflecting the heat back to the inside, reducing winter heat loss through the glass. The reverse happens during the summer helping to limit overheating.
Argon gas
An invisible inert gas which is used as an insulator to create an additional barrier to heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, improving thermal performance.
ATS - Architectural Thermal Spacer®
A thermally improved spacer that bonds the two glass panes of your double-glazed windows and doors apart and creates an airtight bond to ensure the best gas retention of argon gas used in The AGP System®.
Bonded to glass and secondary sealant
A continually evolving formulation used to ensure durable bonding between glass panes. This creates an airtight seal for the space between panes, providing additional protection for the primary seal.
What does The AGP System® do?
Retains heat
Solux-E® reflects the warm air in the home back into your house rather than escaping through the glass. This reduces winter heat loss by 59% better5 when compared to standard double glazing.
Blocks excessive heat
Due to its superior solar control, Solux Ultra™, is the best choice to control overheating. Solux Ultra™ works hard to let natural light stream in with less heat entering the home, reducing overheating and also minimising the need to use air conditioning.
Reduces heat transfer
The AGP System® uses ATS to keep warm and cold areas separated, and an argon gas fill to act as an insulator. These components work together with Solux-E® to reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer through your glazing.
Replaces traditional aluminium spacer system
The AGP System® has replaced the traditional aluminium spacer system with ATS - Architectural Thermal Spacer® which is a better performing, single component thermoplastic spacer that is bonded to the glass. This technology outperforms existing spacers and edge seal systems available in New Zealand.
Controls fading
Solux Ultra™ delivers an additional 10% increase* in fading control, protecting your interior furnishings to keep them looking better for longer.
Complies with the Building Code’s highest R-value
To deliver the ultimate thermal performance for your home, it’s important to complement The AGP System® with a thermally efficient frame such as ThermalHEART® or uPVC Klima Series®.
(EN 673).

Thermal efficiency
The AGP System® pairs ATSArchitectural Thermal Spacer® with argon gas to reduce heat transfer through the glass, contributing to an improvement in the window systems’ overall thermal performance.
Gas retention
The superior seal integrity of ATSArchitectural Thermal Spacer® improves The AGP System’s argon gas retention and reduces the risk of moisture vapour leaking into the unit. This is why we back The AGP System® with an extended 12-year warranty.
Aesthetics
The AGP System® features ATSArchitectural Thermal Spacer® - a smooth, matt black spacer which is robotically extruded for a uniform appearance. The ATSArchitectural Thermal Spacer® has a single join, unlike other spacers which can have multiple joins. The matt black finish also reduces the reflectance of the frame colour.
Longevity
ATS – Architectural Thermal Spacer® is made to flex with changes in pressure and tension on the window edge seal, improving The AGP System’s longevity. ATS - Architectural Thermal Spacer® offers better reliability by replacing traditional rigid spacer systems, which have multiple parts, with an innovative singlecomponent system.
Healthier home
The internal and external glass panes in The AGP System® are separated with ATSArchitectural Thermal Spacer® to reduce the likelihood of condensation forming on the glass inside the home, reducing the risk of mould growth and increasing the health and wellbeing of you and your family. This can be further improved with a thermally improved frame.
Smaller energy bills
A more constant temperature means less energy used to heat and cool the home, providing energy savings year-round. Reduced energy consumption puts less demand on New Zealand’s power grid, reducing the environmental footprint of your home.
Year-round comfort
Solux-E® works to minimise heat flow allowing you to stay warmer through winter and cooler through summer. You’ll have less warm air escaping in the winter and less heat entering through the glass in summer without the need to use tinted glass, also known as Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC).
Solux-E® helps to retain heat in the home 59% better5 than standard double glazing, and reflects the ‘sun’s heat’ back out 34% better6 than standard double glazing helping to achieve a more stable home temperature and year-round comfort with less need for air-conditioning.
Centrafix™ Installation A game changer in thermal performance
The Centrafix™ installation method is an alternative BRANZ appraised and Codemark Certified solution to the New Zealand Building Code standard installation method.
This new installation method minimises thermal losses that normally occur by recessing the window and door back inside the building wall. This aligns all insulation elements –wall, window frame, glazing – and prevents cold air from circulating around the window and door frames.

The Centrafix™ window installation system, can be specified with higher performance glazing, frames and special insulating elements around and within the window frame to achieve passive house levels of thermal performance.
The NZ Building Code is changing
New minimum insulation requirements for housing set out in clause H1 Energy Efficiency of the New Zealand Building Code will come into effect in three stages. It’s all part of New Zealand moving to Carbon net zero by 2050 with more thermally and energy efficient windows and doors playing their part.
From 3 November 2022 we moved from 3 climate zones to 6 to allow a more nuanced approach to climatic factors and window suitability. All zones will be required to achieve a minimum 0.37 R value from this date, with cooler zones having another interim increase before all zones fully transition to the final performance requirements from November 2023.
What does this mean?
In essence, R0.37 requires a high-performance IGU (Insulated Glass Unit) with a low emissivity (Low-E) coating, such as Solux-E®, in a nonthermal frame. R0.46 and R0.50 require Low-E glass in a thermally improved frame.
What is an R value?
R-values refer to a material’s ability to conduct heat flow, or thermal resistance. The higher the R-value the better thermal resistance the product will provide.
