When you have had one best friend for 30 years, you consider yourself truly lucky. Look Good Feel Better has been privileged enough to have a whole team of best friends in its corner since day one.

More than 30 years ago, a group of dedicated individuals came together and created a workshop to help women manage the appearancerelated impact of cancer. But the workshops did more than just that - it provided the space for women to connect, talk, share, and feel supported.

Through Look Good Feel Better, they created an understanding that cancer treatment must go beyond the medical and treat the whole person. They reminded women of the importance of self-care and the power of optimism, and they created a legacy of hope by helping women facing cancer. And together for 30 years, we have demonstrated the power of community – our community.

It is you that makes our community what it is. Women who have faced cancer and know how important it is to take back control and feel like themselves. Industry leaders and companies who understand the need and make things possible through their generosity and commitment. Volunteers across Canada determined to deliver the workshop in their local hospital and community. As they say, it really does take a village and we are grateful for ours.

Mary Kay always said there are three kinds of conversations – they can be about people, about events, or about ideas. I love that though the workshop is an event where we are supporting people – at its core, LGFB started as an idea. An idea to make a difference in the lives of women with any kind of cancer. The magnitude of the work in front of us can make me feel small, but never unable, because I am so lifted by the idea of LGFB.
