The pottery experience with a difference
When business owners, Karen and Brett O’Driscoll first dreamed up the concept of The Pottery Experience, their goal was to offer something a little different to the Hawke’s Bay entertainment scene Their hands on pottery
workshops have evolved over the past year and a half to include a wide range of themes to suit all kinds of groups, from those looking for a unique date night option, to a hens do activity or team building exercise for the workplace
“Our workshops are very fun and informal,” says coowner, Karen O’Driscoll “We are not teaching you to be a Potter, we are facilitating a pottery experience ”
After a short demonstration from Karen or Brett, participants are given the opportunity to create and paint their own clay masterpieces Guests are encouraged to bring their own refreshments with glasses, plates and napkins provided Once complete, The Pottery Experience team glaze and kiln fire the creations

“We were approached by The National Distillery Company asking if we would like to collaborate, so Pottery & Gin tasting was our first collaboration event,” says O’Driscoll It sold out quickly and from there The Pottery Experience has gone on to host pottery and wine tasting events, a pottery and pizza party and more recently, pottery and floral design events with locally owned business, Bloom Bouquets
