Letesha Willis, 21, is a fashion designer and the founder of Endless Flow, a local company dedicated to sustainability and creating bonds within families while wearing matching outfits She has experienced quite a remarkable transformation over her short life and is now dedicated to growing her career

childhood and says she started “acting out” at Napier Girls High School It was a difficult time but teacher Sarah Shand took her out of “my dark days,” by introducing her to sewing “I found solace and purpose in the sewing room,” she says

Sewing every day not only gave her a purpose but she discovered she had a talent With support from her teacher she was fortunate to receive a scholarship to enter the EIT Diploma in fashion level 5 which she

started in 2020 Endless flow was created during 2020 as part of a class project and continued to grow during her time at EIT In the first year Letesha honed her skills and she developed a profound passion for a career in the fashion world However, life threw a curved ball when she discovered in March 2021 that she was pregnant It was a difficult time and she wondered whether to continue but luckily there was extended family support and Letesha decided to continue with her studies

Isaiah was born towards the end of the year meaning Letesha missed the much anticipated end of year fashion show but she did have three months off in which to bond with baby Isaiah

“Juggling the demands of being a student, a mother and pursuing my passion was incredibly tough,” but she persevered and in 2022 earned a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Practice in Fashion Level 7

Letesha created a final portfolio called Forever Green which was inspired by the forest She and her partner Ty Scott, together with then one-year-old Isaiah, led the models on the catwalk to display her creations

Isaiah is now two and Letesha works in her studio four days a week while he is at pre-school Last year she worked on the brand and launched Endless Flow just before Christmas It’s an internet based business and she sells exclusively online

Here clients will find branded Endless Flow garments such as t shirts, shorts and hoodies Letesha prints the shirts to order and that way keeps an eye on quality control She orders locally as it’s not very sustainable, say, to bring in products from China

There’s also an impressive range of one-off garments that, more often than not, are crafted using sustainable and/or recycled material

There’s a colourful selection of summer hoodies all of which are totally unique Her range of summer hats for children and adults use hemp and bamboo that are soft and sustainable and there are beanies on the way as part of her winter collection

Right now she’s working on making reversible dressing gowns crafted from recycled towels on one side and blankets on the other side

ParticipantschoosewhentheyattendtheWeaverywith someattendingonceaweekwhileothersattendmore regularly.Therearetwentyweaversintotalandtwelve isconsideredagoodnumberonanyday.Inadditionto Juliathereisanotherstaffmemberplusavolunteerto supporttheweavers.
