Primary and secondary schools / youth

Parents and caregivers are welcome to visit schools and meet with the principal and other staff prior to enrolling their child. Most schools have a brochure/ prospectus that provides information about the school and what it offers. The Ministry of Education website at www.education.govt.nz provides a searchable school database and includes information about the school’s profile and contact details, student population, student engagement and finances. Some schools have an enrolment zone where only children living in the zone can attend.

Youth

Whanganui has a wide range of opportunities and organisations for young people and our diverse community is represented by young people in almost every arena.
