LANDSCAPE COURTYARD DESIGN

The site is chosen to be in Karnataka on the edge of a delta formation where two rivers meet the sea. The existing vegetation coupled with the diversity of water type and sand gives distinctive views, making it a dreamland for design ideas.
The tropical nature of the site is a plus point to explore the diverse vegetation. However, a lot of water context surrounding the site is balanced with the green cover and sandy texture of the beach makes the perfect combination to get out of the monotony offered by a sea front location. Thus utilising the context of the site will pose challenges wheather to blend it in the existing context or to create something new altogether.
THE PHILOSOPHY
The idea is to play with the different types of sand grains and develop a a grain pattern on the ground with different pebble sizes. The colour scheme blends naturally with the surroundings. The spread of tall palm trees provide visual connectivity with the adjacent water body yet also gives a sense of boundary. The relaxed furniture as well as the levelled courtyard gives the perfect place for a lazy evening by the river and the sea.
