COUNTY FAIR QUEEN CANDIDATES NEEDED

Are you interested in running for Monroe County Fair Queen? The Monroe County Fair Queen advances to the Missouri State Fair. Last year, organizers were able to send a queen with the money they earned from the younger girls entering the pageant, so they are looking for girls ages 10-16 to enter. The Queen receives a crown if they win, but the extra money allows the organizers to send a queen to state fair, at no charge to the girl for her entry fees. If anyone is interested, please contact Bonny Hendren (660-2634381 or 660-372-8134) as soon as possible, so she can contact the state fair representative and let them know Monroe County will have a girl entering.

Whether it’s a parent, sibling, friend or neighbor, we all know someone who has been touched by cancer. Relay For Life is one way to recognize loved ones who are surviving cancer and remember those who have lost the battle. After sunset at each Relay For Life event, the track is encircled with Luminaria decorated with the names of those who have battled cancer. This ceremony of light symbolizes the hope and courage with which we all continue to fight cancer. Available again this year is a caregiver bag, as a way to honor those who have cared for a cancer patient. If you would like to make a donation for a Luminaria at our Relay For Life, fill out the form in next week’s Appeal, or pick up at chamber office and mail to the address below. Each Luminaria is a $5.00 donation. Vanessa Forrest 26817 Rt KK Paris, MO 65275
