XI BETA XI HALLOWEEN PARADE OCTOBER 31

The Xi Beta Xi sponsored Halloween Parade will be held on Friday. October 31, beginning at 4 p.m., at the Monroe County Courthouse and continuing up and down Main Street to visit local businesses.

Paris R-II Elementary recognizes its October Students of Month

FRIENDS OF FLORIDA ANNUAL MEETING

Friends of Florida, will hold their annual meeting on Sunday, Nov. 2, at The Florida Resort, in Florida. An overview of the 2014 membership drive and fundraiser efforts will be discussed, as well as, plans for 2015. Friends of Florida encourage all members to attend. SANTA FE CHRISTIAN CHURCH LORD’S ACRE SUPPER AND AUCTION

Santa Fe Christian Church will hold their annual Lord’s Acre Supper and Auction on Saturday, Nov. 1, with serving beginning at 5 p.m., and auction following at 7 p.m. Serving turkey, ham and all the trimmings, homemade rolls and pies.

HOLLIDAY C-2 HARVEST DINNER

The Holliday C-2 School is having a Harvest Dinner on Saturday, November 1, from 5-7 p.m. We will be serving a turkey dinner. The cost is Adults: $8.00, Children 6 - 13: $4 and Under 6 free. Proceeds are to benefit technology upgrades.

Paris R-II Elementary Students of the Month...

During an early morning assembly - Paris R-II Elementary students were recognized by Counselor Hanna Snider as the elementary Students of the Month. It was noted that the students are learning about The 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Steven Covey. Each month they are focusing on one healthy habit. At the end of the month, classroom teachers select students to be that months Students of the Month. Twenty-five students Pre-K through sixth grade were recognized as Students of the Month. This year Paris Elementary is learning about The 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Steven Covey. Each month we are focusing on one healthy habit. At the end of the month, classroom teachers will select students to be Students of the Month. Our habit for October was “Be Proactive: I’m in charge of me.” The following students were selected because they are responsible and take initiative. They choose their actions, attitudes, and moods. They don’t blame others for their wrong actions. They do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking. The Monroe County Clerk’s Office has scheduled a School of Instructions for Election Judges who will be working at the November 4th General Election. The session will be held on Friday, October 31 4 at 10 a.m., and will be held in the Circuit Courtroom on the third floor of the courthouse. Clerk Francis urges all election judges that are going to be working at the polls on November 4, to attend this meeting. A public test or the ballot counting machines will be conducted on Thurs-

day, October 30, at 9 a.m. in the county clerk’s, office. Also Clerk Francis wants everyone to know that the County Clerk’s Office will be open Saturday morning November 1 for absentee voting for the General Election. The Office will be open from 8 a.m. until 12 noon for the convenience or those people who will be unable to go to the polls for the November 4 Election. Monday November 3 will be the last day to vote absentee; the clerk’s office will remain open until

5 p.m. Monroe County votes who would like to look at their ballot options prior to voting may find Sample Ballots listed on the Secretary or State Website at www. sos.mo.gov. Click on the Elections tab and enter voters name, address, birth date, Monroe County and that tab will take you to information as to where you vote and the ballot options.
