Information about the Affordable Care Act and the federal Marketplace can be obtained at the Paris NECAC office, 314 N. Washington, every Monday and Wednesday, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The open enrollment period for 2015 coverage is from November 15 through February 15, 2015. Paris R-II PTSA sponsors annual Breakfast with Santa Dec. 6
On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Paris R-II PTSA will be sponsoring their annual “Breakfast with Santa” from 8-10 a.m., at the Paris Elementary School cafeteria. The annual event features donuts, drinks and pictures with Santa will be available. Breakfast will cost $2 and pictures with Santa will cost $2 each. To visit with Santa is free (you can just come for the visit). Santa’s elves will be busy serving breakfast and passing out books and goodies to all the little visitors. Those attending will be entered into a drawing for a new bike. On Thursday, December 4, will be the annual Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Paris Area Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this year’s parade is “It’s a Wonderful Life” and prizes will once again be awarded in two categories - float and non-float with each first place prize being $50 (usually donated by Wheeler Auction and Agnew Funeral Home) and the second place prize being $25 (usually donated by Elk Fork Campground and Shelter Insurance - Russ Thomas). Anyone and everyone are welcome to join in on the fun and participate in the parade. While enjoying the parade, residents will be able to view the Christmas lights placed throughout the downtown area courtesy of Signature Masonry and Jonesy’s and the decorations placed by the City of Paris. courthouse Christmas lights as the parade passes by. The annual chamber soup/chili supper will be held from 5-7 p.m., at the Paris Senior Citizen’s Center. There will be a multitude of donated items to win at the silent auction at the supper. The chamber will conduct their silent auction until 7 p.m. As always, one-half of all proceeds
from the Paris Area Chamber of Commerce event will go to Christmas Is Caring. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy this joyous celebration of the season. Grandma’s Attic, located on Main Street, Paris, will be open late on Thursday, Dec. 4 to allow parade goers to shop after the event and before the soup supper.

2014 Gift and Craft Show to be Xi Gamma Rho sorority’s last show The members of the Xi Gamma Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority are giving up their annual Saturday after Thanksgiving gift and craft show after 40 years. “We are going to miss it,” said Show Chairman Becky Vanlandingham. According to Vanlandingham there are three possible replacements that could step up and continue the annual

Paris Friends of the Library will hold their Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 6 - 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Paris Public Library in the Roegge Room.
