Mark Twain High School Wins State ProStart Management Contest

BOND ISSUE PUBLIC MEETINGS TO BE HELD AT MTHS, NEW LONDON, PERRY Public meetings to be held to discuss the April bond issue and the centralized elementary school will be held at 7 p.m. March 10 at New London Elementary; at 7 p.m. March 20 at the Multipurpose Building at Mark Twain High School; and at 7 p.m. March 24 at Perry City Hall.

SALAD SUPPER AT PERRY CHRISTIAN

The Perry Christian CWF is hosting their Salad Supper on Thursday, March 13 in the church basement. Following the meal, everyone is invited to the sanctuary for a lighthearted program based on St. Patrick’s Day! Wear a spot o’green and join in the fun.

BOND ISSUE PUBLIC MEETINGS TO BE HELD IN NEW LONDON

New London City Council will hold a public meeting to discuss the upcoming bond issue at 7 p.m. March 11 and March 26 at a place to be determined.

PERRY LIONS CLUB FISH FRY

Perry Lion’s Club will be hosting a Fish Fry, on Friday, March 7, from 5:30-7 p.m., at St. William Church.

VFW IN PERRY HOLDING SOUP SUPPER

Friday, February, 28, Mark Twain Memorial VFW Post 4088, in Perry, will have a soup supper beginning at 6 p.. Chili, Chicken Noodle and Vegetable soup will be on the menu. ProStart Managment students, Jill Alexander and Matt Taylor, from Mark Twain High School, in Center, captured first place in the Annual MissouriProStart high school ProStart management contest. The students now advance to represent the state of Missouri at the 13th Annual National ProStart Invitational. Mark Twain’s Management

Team will compete in the NationalProStart Competition, hosted by the National Restaurant Association. The national competition will take place May 3-5, 2014, in Minneapolis, Minn. At the National Competition, hosted by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the top five teams from both the culinary and management

competitions will be awarded scholarships for their college education. The Missouri Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in conjunction with the Missouri Beef Industry Council sponsored the State ProStart Competition, which took place at the Ramada Plaza Hotel & Oasis Convention Center, in Springfield, on Feb. 20-

21, with approximately 120 high school students from throughout the state competing for the top honors.
