Sub-Branch Event

Thank you to everyone who joined use for our event on the Professional Practice Day and posted some ideas about how the Sub-Branch can support you! It was wonderful to catch up with staff that we may not always have an opportunity to talk to, and to see everyone getting involved

Feedback Form

Following the Sub-Branch event, the Executive launched out Sub-Branch feedback form using Microsoft Forms This Form will remain open indefinitely, allowing our members to anonymously share any feedback, concerns, or other information that you would like to share with the Executive

The Cranbourne Sub-Branch Executive wishes to formally acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Bunurong people of the Kulin nation, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging Our mission is to work together to improve the working condition of staff and support all AEU members

Meetings and runs events; Represent interests of members and the AEU; Works to resolve workplace issues; Ensures policies and agreements are developed and implemented; Liaises with Consultative Committee; Drives the collective SubBranch in AEU campaigns; Is the first point of call for new members; Distributes information from AEU to Union members

SUB- BRANCH

We are the Cranbourne Secondary College AEU sub-branch, and our shared purpose is to: ensure the collective voice of staff members is heard create a harmonious work environment promote wellbeing for all improve the education of all students

We will achieve this by: having a collective RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that our workplace is safe fostering RESPECT through diversity and relationships being CREATIVE to problem solve and seek solutions LEARNING together to build knowledge and seek purpose Building our RESILIENCE through strength and solidarity

Pay increases and backpay

DET has begun implementing the salary increases and backpay detailed in the VGSA 2022 Any staff who did not receive their salary increase or backpay in the 24/08 pay cycle should receive it in the 07/09 pay cycle

Information on the VGSA 2022, including the VGSA itself, the Letter of Commitment, and the deed detailing the agreement to maximum teaching hours, can be found here

Ten-Year Plan for Staffing in Public Education

The AEU have developed a ten-year plan for actions that can be undertaken by the state government to ensure public education is appropriately funded and that kindergartens, schools, and TAFE have the staff that they need The recommendations included in the ten-year plan are intended to address current staffing shortages and to support the attraction and retention of staff through medium and long-term plans

Infectious diseases leave

Staff can apply for infectious disease leave if it is likely that they contracted the disease (including COVID-19) at work

This leave can be accessed retroactively To access it, you will require a certificate from a doctor outlining that it was likely the disease was contracted at work WorkSafe has indicated that they regard education settings as 'high risk' workplaces

Union Shopper

AEU members have access to the Union Shopper website Through Union Shopper, union members are able to access discounted whitegoods, electronics, cars, insurance, and travel (and more!) from reputable retailers and service providers including The Good Guys, Mycar Tyre and Auto, JB Hi-Fi, and Village Cinemas

29 September - CRT Conference

This much anticipated CRT Conference, Casuals Collectively Calling for Change, will kickstart the state election campaign for CRT members This practical conference will not only look at issues collectively affecting CRTs, but also share ways that you can get involved in AEU Victoria's state election campaign

15 October - Women's Conference

With the state election due to be held on the 26 November, it is more important than ever for women to campaign in support of a government that looks after women and the issues that remain pivotal in both their working and private lives This year’s theme is Gender Equality in Education Come for the talks, panels, Q&As, workshops, and more

The Put Education First campaign is a network of parents, educators, and community members standing up and campaigning for public education in Victoria
