I see myself as an artist by soul to be true towards myself and my art.

Architecture has helped me transform as an artist & continues to do so. It has taught me to unlearn all the things i have learned; to break away from conditioning.

One of the greatest discoveries is to learn through reasoning from my own experiences to travel frequently to observe without judgement to explore with curiousity to create with passion and to be amazed always.

Life has been full of inspiring people, to learn from. It has taught me to collaborate, and to exchange ideas with diverse thinking.

Architecture in its true formm is an art to share with people & learn as well. A sustainable practice which should benefit every living form.

10 times basic design excercise

This excercise was a fun decision making process out of everyday objects. I chose a fruit randomly (dragonfruit), and cut it at the centre. Then placed a 3cm x 3cm frame at any part and magnified it up to 10 times (i.e. 30 cm x 30 cm). When i drew it in a piece of paper it was more of an experiment with the pattern by adding any choice of color.

I chose the pink tone out of the primary color red and made 5 tones and 5 shades. The first painting depicts a simple black and white pattern while the 2nd painting depicts more contrast by playfully choosing to add different tones of the colour.

This experiment led out towards a thought that even patterns can turn out dynamic.

It further continued to using the pattern in 10cm cube to churn out some interesting spaces for example :- semi-enclosed but covered at the top, semi- open, enclosed but open roof, etc.

The curved and straight lines helped in producing sharp elements which tends to stand out in the compositions while the points help in highting the overlapping of differrent shapes.

Kite volumes

basic design excercise

This project was about finding basic shapes (lines, points, curves, etc) in a kite and making various 2-D compositions including 2 straight lines, 2 curved lines, 1 circles from kite, 1circle of any size, 1 shape of kite, 1 triangle of any size and 5 points.

The has been a constant thought of mainting balance in the black and white composition, the traingle helps in breaking the continuity, thus creating sharper elemants.

The blue colored composition creates a pathway for the viewer. The spilling of blue in larger area followed by smaller elements keeps the link and balance similar to the black n white composition.

From 2D composition the 3D model is to play with volumetric massing.

Hence, Every element of the composition has been elevated to certain height to create a hierachy to the composition. A little depth to the kite shape helps in highlighting the larger elements.

The 2nd model is to convert the solid into voids by adding punctures to play out the more intersting nature of model making .

Housing for 9 families who have shifted from nearby village and to provide 3 home stays to support the community economically.

Using the natural contours and local materials to reduce the impact on ecological balance and traditional building knowledge to encourage people participation in building their own homes with the lowest of cost. The design is also inspired from small cottage industries based on the professions of tribal people to support themselves.

roof plan

The different professions are bamboo handicraft, vegetable farming, pottery, textile weaving and warli painting, along with agriculture.

The houses of the same profession share a common roof to help each other in their craft and also share their ideas.

The bathes and washing closets are outside the houses with washing areas, to be common for all.

Home stays are provided along with to help the visitors learn the art & craft of the forgotten community and share their lifestyle.

The compost from toilets are used in the bio-gas chamber plants which help in producing bio-gas for households. The electricity through solar panels also helps in channeling water from the wells to water tanks for water supply.

The home stays are designed to provide only the basic necessities ( sleeping & storage ), as the lifestyle of the people is very simple, possessi ons and needs are bare minimum.

art during pandemic

Expression keeps us sane.

Art has helped a lot to overcome stress and emptiness but it is the only thing sometimes that i can do. Hence a lot of mixed media art came out everyday through self exploration.

Few of them here have emerged from simple pen n brush and ink, while others are digital combined with photographs and doodles.
