Kharifa Bey (Kharben Bey V x Believe It Ornot by Khemosabi), appeared in AHW’s baby photos 22 years ago. Now owned by Melanie Davis, AHW’s art director, her breeder Sue Eves of Charming Meadow Farm, Robesonia, Pennsylvania, sent a recent update: “Lots of family news,” says Sue. “Kharifa’s daughter Windsong Bey had an exquisite black filly by Mirage V on July 5, pictured middle right and bottom. Granddaughter Kholela Bey has finished up her Legion of Merit and came home with two East Coast reserve championships in dressage. She’s doing first level now. Grandson Klint Black just went Canadian Top Ten Western Pleasure and finished up his points for Legion of Supreme Merit. And, great-grandaughter Rajima Black had a black filly by PA Nyte Star, pictured top and middle left. Hard to believe that Kharifa is a great-great grandmother, isn’t it?”
