red to near perfection over centuries by visionary horsemen, the straight Egyptian is legendary in the Arabian horse world. With a genetic base that is unequaled in the Arabian breed, the straight Egyptian bloodlines are a source of traditional classic quality, beauty, and refinement for breeding farms worldwide. Consequently, these bloodlines are strongly reflected in the world’s most admired Arabian show champions and breeding stock. Our goal at Al Shaqab is to produce an Arabian horse that satisfies our personal vision of the Arabian horse. Our horse must be beautiful but also athletic. Our region has benefitted from the strong attributes of the Arabian horse throughout our history. Its strength, bravery, kind character, charisma, and intelligence have

shaped our equine culture. What better way to present the vision of our straight Egyptian program than with a horse that, in 10 years of competition, has prevailed on three continents and won every competition entered? Al Shaqab is proud of its role in maintaining and promoting the straight Egyptian Arabian through its World Champion Stallion Al Adeed Al Shaqab.

A Champion’s Arrival Every breeder looks forward to the birth of a new foal. Months of anticipation are rewarded when expectations become reality. One fine April day a colt like no other was born at Al Shaqab. A much hopedfor son of the famed Ansata Halim Shah, this handsome foal was destined to carry on the legacy of his sire who passed away earlier in the year. Named Al Adeed Al Shaqab, his exceptional quality was obvious at birth and was equally matched by his incomparable bloodlines.

Royal Pedigree Descended from a lineage that defined the classic beauty of the straight Egyptian, Al Adeed’s world-renowned grandsire Ansata Ibn Halima was a U.S. Top Ten Stallion three times and a sire of U.S. National and World Champions. Al Adeed’s sire Ansata Halim Shah set a standard for excellence as one of the most prominent Egyptian Arabian stallions of the

twentieth century. A U.S. Top Ten Futurity Colt in 1983 and Reserve Junior World Champion Colt at the Salon du Cheval, Ansata Halim Shah stood at stud in Europe where, according to the German licensing committee, his breeding record as a sire surpassed that of any other stallion in Germany. Standing as Ansata Halim Shah’s most accomplished son, Al

Adeed has exceeded his legendary sire’s role with his continued contributions of excellence to the straight Egyptian bloodlines. Al Adeed Al Shaqab’s dam Sundar Alisayyah provided prominent champion bloodlines from both sides of her pedigree. Her sire Ruminaja Ali was a U.S. National Reserve Champion Stallion. He went on to sire influential champion stallions and sires such as The Minstril, Anaza El Farid, and Ali Jamaal. Her grandsire Shaikh Al Badi, by Morafic, was a U.S. National Champion Futurity Colt. Her great-grandsire Morafic, appearing four times within Al Adeed’s pedigree, was a record-breaking sire of champions and famous for his uniquely dished head.

Greatness in the Showring An extraordinary individual and a born show horse, Al Adeed Al Shaqab resulted from a most favorable merger of genes from superior ancestors. He represents all those remarkable qualities that make up a supreme champion and a near perfect Arabian: superb type, extreme head, bold movement, pride of carriage, and a distinctive charisma. Widely appreciated by judges and countless Arabian enthusiasts around the globe, his undefeated record in the showring was truly phenomenal. Although Al Adeed had won titles on three continents during his 10 years of competition, his crowning achievement came at the 2003 Salon du Cheval in Paris — the show where legends are made. Here, at the traditional meeting place for the international Arabian horse community, Al Adeed gave the performance of his life. Fans cheered as he entered the arena — dynamic, charismatic, alert! This was his domain and his moment — and he

pranced into the spotlight as World Champion Stallion with a final score of 479, the highest points in the history of the Salon du Cheval, plus the highest score for legs at that year’s show! Now a living legend, his name is recorded in history as a leader in the world of Arabian show horses.

Al Adeed AL SHAQAB — Sire of Champions Now comes the brilliant young champion Farhoud Al Shaqab to seize the spotlight from his illustrious sire. In 2010 at the 30th Anniversary of the Egyptian Event in Lexington, Kentucky, Farhoud’s overall harmony and style earned him the distinction as possibly the only two-year-old to ever be declared the unanimous Junior Champion Colt and Supreme Champion Stallion in the history of the show.
