Clifton Heights Park is located in St. Louis, Missouri. The park is composed of a lake, walking + bike paths, as well as a playground, swing set, and basketball court. The park is surrounded by residential homes of roughly 3, 074 families of which 87% have children that may utilize the park. The 300 SF. square west of the playground is designated for redesign. The 300 sf. site is currently unused due to a drainage issue. The water flows down the slope east of the site and accumulates in the northeast corner of the site. There is an existing drain to the south west that is currently on a higher grade then the site. This creates a muddy ditch that deters use. The objective of the project is to create a sustainable space that adds value to the park as well as solving the problem of water flow within a 20,000$ budget.

CONCEPT The problem of the site lies within improper water diversion, the proposed solutions are to REGRADE, RESURFACE, + RAIN GARDEN. The design synthesis includes elements of all three original concepts. In addition objectives such as RELAX, GATHER, + INTERACT are included throughout the design.
