3 TheSolution Createashareddatasheettosumupthegoalsandthe constraintsofthebriefandtoserveasaninputtothedigitaltool. Thedigialtoolgivesbackinitialdiagramsinordertobetter definethegoalsandconstraints, alsotobetterunderstand thespatialrelationships. Throughareal-timesimulationof thedataonecanachieve aconstantloopbetweenthedataandthespacialarrangement, thusachievingresultswithlesseffortandinless time. 4 SharedDatasheet Thefirsttasktocompleteintheproccessistocompile alltheinformationfromthevarioussources-consultants, manuals, specialists, etc. This canbe thensynthesised into spreadsheetconsistingofvariousdatawhichwillserveto drivethediagramsimulation. Eachrow isa differentspace fromthe brief. For eachspace thereisaspecificfunction;adepartmentforitsprogrammaticgrouping; anarea insquare meters;an optionallevelincasethereareanyrestrictions/recommendations; andthe hierarchicalconnections toother spacesillustrated throughaproximitymatrix. Anadvantigeof thismethodis thatthespreadsheet canbe sharedaccrosstheteammembersandeachofthemcan giveinputon theirownsphere. Forexample, the restaurant operatorscangivedetailedinformationabouttheirspatialrequirementsandmarkthemonthespreadsheet. This wouldbedirectlyvisabletothearchitectthroughthediagramsgenaratedfromtheschedule, withouthavingtogo throughand analysecomplex guides. This waythe process isoptimisedandsavestimeandeffort.
