The Architect’s Newspaper is celebrating the 12th year of the Facades+ conference series. We are thrilled to welcome both new attendees and longtime supporters to the program’s dynamic dialogue. We bring fresh and relevant programming to each city, and have an exceptional group of projects and enclosure systems for you to learn about today.
Facades+ Washington DC brings together top professionals from the worlds of design, engineering, fabrication, and construction to consider how high-performance envelopes are evolving and transforming the built environment in the DC Metro area and across the US while responding to changing codes, climates, technologies, programs, and client expectations.
I’d like to thank our conference co-chairs, Jason Wright and Tom Corrado of Hickok Cole who have brought together this amazing program of design leaders. We invite you to connect with presenters and your peers during networking breaks in the Methods+Materials Gallery.
Please get to know the industry-leading sponsors exhibiting in the Methods+Materials Gallery, and learn how they will help you shape the future of facade design and technology.
Has Facades+ struck a chord with you? Have a look at our upcoming events held in 13 cities across the U.S. & Canada. Visit our website to learn more about our other events and additional opportunities to earn your CEUs.

With over 20 years of experience in design and construction, Jason’s specialty lies in the details and how buildings are assembled to reinforce the design concept, making him an excellent project architect. As Director of Technical Operations, he is responsible for training and mentoring the firm’s project architects and managing the quality of the firm’s technical drawings. From navigating the code and entitlement process for DC’s first-ever mass timber renovation to serving on Hickok Cole’s Project Technology and Quality Control Committees, his expert precision and sheer ability to synthesize and apply technical details at rapid speed never fails to impress.
Tom Corrado, LEED AP is an Associate Principal and a senior project designer at Hickok Cole, where he works for the firm’s commercial architecture practice. With 20+ years of design experience, his holistic approach emphasizes a synergy between a building’s function and how it’s experienced by its users. A few of Tom’s design interests include urban studies, enhanced placemaking, and how innovations in digital fabrication and material science will drive architecture and design in the 21st century. His most recent obsession is mainstreaming mass timber, a material he feels has the capacity to completely alter the way we design, construct, and experience buildings. He is also working on new prototypes of medical office buildings and incorporating biophilia into the healthcare industry. His most noteworthy projects include 80 M Street, Washington DC’s first mass timber office renovation, Anthem Row, 909 Rose Avenue, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies headquarters. Tom earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture at Clemson University.
