BETWEEN BLUE and GREEN A Multi-Modal Transit Hub for Cleveland The connection between the urban core of downtown Cleveland and the shore of Lake Eerie: severed by the impassable barrier of rail lines and interstate highway, walling the city off from the waters that originally defined it. BETWEEN BLUE AND GREEN, in conjuncture with larger, urban scale design interventions, aims to reestablish this broken link, restitching the once present connection between city and shoreline. As the name implies, BETWEEN BLUE AND GREEN connects two elements: the waters of Lake Eerie, and a prominent strip of green space in the city center. This structure acts as an extension of this existing green space, adhering to the same width and basic form along its length, eventually terminating at the waters edge. This planar element serves as a walkable connection between the city and waterfront. Perpendicular to this primary element, lies the secondary form that encapsulates the two major transit terminals: rail and bus on the East and West respectively.

TRANSIT PATHS
Contained within the transit hub are terminals for street, rail and water travel. The rail terminal offers connections to the existing Cleveland light rail system (RTA) as well as to Amtrak heavy passenger rail and high speed rail. Also present is an intercity bus terminal along with local transit systems such as city bus and taxi. On the water sits a terminal dedicated to long distance passenger ferries and a local water taxi serving stops along the Lake Eerie shoreline. For extremely rapid transit, hyperloop connections are also present.
