POP-UP SHOP In its second configuration the bench serves as a public pop-up shop. It can be moved of the wall and the top surface as well as the seat becomes a display space.

BENCH In most instances the bench will be used as public seating. In this configuration it will typically be pushed up against a wall.

BUSINESS MICRO-ECONOMY

RAILS The bench sits on rails allowing it to move forward and backward.

GREEN ROOF The lower roof tops are accesible to the residents and provide additional green space. The deep floor plates also permit the roof to absorbe rainfall and slowdown/minimize runoff.

SOLAR ARRAY The upper roof tops are inaccessible to the residents and out of sight, thus serve as a platform to substitute the power usage of the building.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS

GRASSPAVE2 Grasspave2 is a porous grid system that permits the growth and appearance of a continuous grass floor, while providing ADA compliance. Furthermore, this allows rain to reach the ground water and minimizes the affects of the site on runoff.

TIMBER

The grid structure is comprised of a glulam system that provides similar structural performance to steel, while making use of sustainable timber and a warmer aesthetic.
