reliance art center The Reliance Art Metal Co. was once home to the George Klotter Brewery in 1886. The following year, George’s sons joined the brewery and it was renamed the George Klotter and Sons Brewery. It remained until 1888, when it was renamed the Bellevue Brewery. While under the Bellevue Brewery, the adjacent Mockbee building was built in 1895. The Bellevue Brewery closed in 1919, when it came under ownership of the C.M. Mockbee Steel Company.

the mockbee The Mockbee building was built in 1895 as a part of the Bellevue Brewery. Eventually it came under the ownership of the C.M. Mockbee Steel Company. After the Mockbee Co. moved to its new Cincinnati location, the building came under new ownership. It became a venue for local artists to display work and local bands to perform concerts. However, due to code issues, that halted in 2005 and the building sat dormant for several years until last year when an entertainment center opened in the lower level.

market The market space is a central feature to all spaces within the project. Focused on sustainability, health and community, the market is a place to shop locally and sustainably. The market features a two-story indoor urban farm, which gives adequate opportunity for the local community to purchase fresh produce, as well as supply products to an in-house restaurant. The market is connected to both the apartments and co-working allowing occupants a short commute for meals or other products.

co-working The coworking space is designed to be a neutral space where people can assemble to work independently on different projects, or in groups. The workspace design features private conference rooms and call booths, as well as individual offices and a variety of open common spaces to work in to allow freedom and mobility. The co-working space also has access to the lobby gym, and professionals who use the space also have the opportunity to rent out the apartments above as well.

apartments The residential units, located on the upper floors of the building, is centered around a simple, minimalist lifestyle. With an efficient design in order to obtain the maximum use of space, all 9 apartments contain a lofted area, and contains all the basic apartment amenities such as a full kitchen, in-house washer and dryer, a gym complex as well as direct and easy access to the other spaces of the building. While each unit maintains a small footprint, the high ceilings and large windows create a larger sense of space.
