This volume is part of the six document series that was developed for the AR’ City Live Project in October 2018. The ‘Project Plan’ outlines and talks in more detail about the events and undertakings that are to take place in the following two years.

AUDIENCES


Ar ’ City Festival consists of 5-10 playable experiences exhibited on the Moor for 2 weeks in September 2019. These playable experiences interact with citizens in different mediums and technologies. The Moor at the heart of Sheffield is the leading retail and entertainment area in the city. EVENTS


Prior to the launch of the AR’ City Festival in September 2019, AALFY will launch Ar ’ City gradually at different festivals and conferences in the city. In the following pages, we want to present to you a series of events that we are going to be part of.

Festival of Debate

Founded in 2015, Festival of Debate is a series of panel discussions, debates, Q&As, artistic responses, keynote speeches and other public events in Sheffield, exploring politics, economics and society. In 2017, the Festival of Debate hosted 70 events, including over 40 organisations and attracted over 5000+ visitors.

Hallam Festival of Education

Considered as South Yorkshire’s own educational “Glastonbury”, this two days festival hosted by Sheffield Hallam University aims to explore some of the key questions in Education such as the impact of technology in education and how is education engaging with employment.


Children’s Media Conference

The CMC is the only gathering in the UK for everyone involved in developing, producing and distributing content to kids – on all platforms. The conference sees delegates from film, TV, radio, interactive media, games, licensing, toys, book and magazine publishing, the arts and culture sector and educational media – with speakers from all those areas and beyond.

Sheffield Doc/Fest

Sheffield Doc/Fest is a world leading festival celebrating the art and business of documentary and non-fiction storytelling across all forms. Each year the festival welcomes over 25,000 festival goers, including around 3,500 industry delegates from 55 countries.


Festival of the Mind

Festival of the Mind is a unique collaboration between The University of Sheffield and experts from Sheffield’s cultural and creative industries. The third Festival of the Mind attracted 50,000 visitors to its performances, talks, exhibitions, virtual reality experiences and interactive events.

This volume is part of the 6 document series that was developed for the AR’ City Live Project in October 2018. The ‘Project Plan’ volume outlines an overview of the project plan and associated costs.: Content Development- Focusing on the development of the Ar ’ City playable ideas, this section highlights the cost associated with developing an idea from the minds of young people to a working prototype. Total Cost: £8750 Production- Curating and development of the Ar ’ City festival and associated events. Cost include staffing, materials, development of tech and space hire.
