Alba, the feminine form of the Latin ‘albus’ meaning white, is a collection of lifestyle residences encased behind a striking blanched exterior. The white façade sets the tone for the retreat, purity and peace that lies beyond. Alba is more than just a living space, it’s an authentic urban environment. Twenty-two one, two & three bedroom apartments with terraces; and the piece de resistance is a twenty-third dwelling, a supurb three-bedroom top-floor penthouse domain. Sightlines are planned with privacy in mind, reinforcing the importance of first impressions. A prominent entrance lobby announces the opportunity for rest and relaxation within. Residents will feel respite and rejuvenation when they enter the building. Alba blends with its environment at street level too; boutique retail space forms part of the local community. Sustainable principles are followed; the building uses harvested water and solar energy. Outdoor landscape architecture is also designed to create a haven of harmony. Throughout the shared outside areas gentle pergolas shelter, providing nooks for taking time out.

‘With clean lines and a neutral material palette, Alba’s design language effortlessly complements the existing fine-grained fabric of the Bentleigh Urban Village’

‘The ground floor facade, free from structural constraints, presents as a fullyglazed retail component that activates the street frontage. A linear canopy separates this element from the residents above, maintaining a comfortable scale for pedestrians within the public realm.

A robust and sober polished concrete podium forms the main body of the building and defines the mass of the street façade. The strategic appearance of greenery over the podium, along with the introduction of a pergola element, contributes to a seamless transition to upper storeys. Lush greenery and climbing plants provide a pleasant outlook for residents and a sense of protection from the environment.

The upper floors are tied together by a continuous balustrade ribbon, a play of solid white render and clear glass contributes to the ethereal and neutral perception of the materiality of the building.’

In synergy with the natural white exterior, simple interior design elements combined with high-end fixtures to achieve a modern elegance. Ice grey, white and a soft palette of neutral hues respect the interior architectural framework. Natural stone, timber and accents of greenery, both natural and decorative, nod to the locale and its verdant setting. Carefully curated elements such as Smeg appliances and quality fittings add depth to the final finish.

Following Mim Design’s philosophy of producing unique and individually designed spaces to enhance lives, Alba’s interiors take cues from the surrounding environment and architecture to create an urban residential feel. A contemporary inner sanctum has been created, blending in, ever authentic in its approach.

Views from one space to another enhance the sense of openness and flow as practical essentials meet streamlined design.

DEVELOPER

Alba Pi Development (Wan Lu Da Industrial Co. Pty. Ltd) was established in 1994 and plan to bring to Melbourne extensive experience spanning 20 years of developing industrial warehouse and residential projects across China. Alba Pi Development has already developed good relationships with an extensive network of operating partners, advisors, agents, and corporate/institutional owners of real estate. They maintain a strong network of best-in-class consultants in entitlement/ land use, land planning, marketing research, engineering and landscape design. They utilise their unique residential land development experience to efficiently and accurately underwrite complex residential land opportunities.

Their strategic move into the Melbourne market began in 2014 with the acquisition of three sites in premium locations throughout Melbourne. By collaborating with some Melbourne’s best consultants, Alba Pi Development plan to generate a reputation for developing high quality, leading edge residential developments. These developments will incorporate high-performing existing attractions with those new to the areas, taking full advantage of convenient highway access, local schools, shopping centres and abundant parks.
