1-year deep research, including data, observation, and interview, introduced a small historical city identified for its heritage potential, Lasem, to TU Delft and Dutch heritage experts.
- Redesigned the foundation, planned the building orientation and base, prepared the site construction, provided material, considered the impact in the residents’ shelter area. - Persuaded stakeholders (Palu engineer, Central Sulawesi architect, Japanese professor & engineer) restrained with language barrier to build the shelter engineering cooperatively. University of Melbourne, Deakin University, Chongqing University - Campaigned BIM as leading technology, with construction management students. - Achieved comprehensive understanding of a complex 4D simulation software, inspired the software company for creating the best simulation video from 3-days learning.
- Designed post-disaster shelter that can encounter subsequent floods with limited resource, did hands-on bamboo workshop to ensure the applicability of the construction method. - Promoted the space-saving design with incremental possibility, adjusting the needs of the refugee’s economic state to sustain independently and cooperatively with the community.

LA S E M LA N T E RN T R IBUTE, GU I D E A N D H O PE ADAPTIVE REUSE OF HERITAGE HOUSE SITE AS LIVING MUSEUM INTRODUCTION STUDY CASE: EARLY CHINESE SETTLEMENTS at LASEM HERITAGE CITY, CENTRAL JAVA
BUILDING TYPE SITE AREA BUILDING AREA STORIES CAPACITY PROJECT FOCUS PROJECT DESCRIPTION
mixed-use - museum 4000 m2 2700 m2 2 floors, compound massing 400 people heritage preservation
The concept of living museum strongly illustrates Lasem, as a small city with points of diverse cultural heritage in it. However, the first settlements area that became the delivery of the story and acculturation of the development of the city of Lasem, it is less appreciated by its function which is now used as a swallow bird farm. Therefore, it is necessary to do a mature conservation effort for the initial settlement area, as one of the important nodes in the Heritage City of Lasem. Not only through the reuse of cultural heritage buildings, but also reactivates the area into a place of activity that can support economic activities, social needs, and cultural sustainability for the people of Lasem. From this purpose three main concepts were born, namely 1) revitalization of initial settlements by providing a unique spatial value, 2) appreciation of architectural elements with the application of assimilation acculturation, and 3) development of economic and social activities that can support local culture with batik as the main value. These three main issues are tackled with three methods in the design solution: 1) restoration of the old elements, 2) collaboration between old and new elements, and 3) amplification of old elements by adding new elements. Thus, the concept of lantern as a tribute to the past, guide of the present, and hope to the future.

PERSPECTIVES OF CONCLUSION
LASEM LANTERN Lasem itu seperti api kecil yang perlu dijaga… …dalam ketenangan cahaya lentera.
Dimulai dari satu lentera… …lama-lama menjadi banyak.
Dan saat satu lentera menyala… …lentera lain juga akan ikut menyala.
Lentera-lentera ini pun… …akan menerangi Lasem dalam keabadian.

PROJECT Naga City’s strategic location is both an advantage and a threat to the residents DESCRIPTION of the city. as well known that Naga City is one of the cities affected by floods, typhoons and landslides. This encourages the government and the society to take preventive actions in the midst of infrastructure and economic development. The proposed planning will take two aspects as the main focus, namely Resilience and Economic. In resilience, we plan buildings that are adaptive to extreme conditions ranging from the application of shapes, space management and use of materials. The quality of planned building use a principle of easy to find and renewable. Residents can fulfill their needs by using local natural resources. In economy aspect, the proposed scheme is expected to make residents become independent and smart at managing daily needs. The principle of agriculture is used as a source of production and emplotment activities. With this, agricultural land use in Naga City can be functioned properly. The design strategy is to use Water Basin as a method of collecting overflowing water. The water will flow according to the planned phases. Because the site is crossed by rivers, the use of the river as a channel for water basin will be efficient. The next strategy is to apply vertical agriculture. Vertical agriculture is a solution to improve plant quality while saving space. This is useful especially when disaster conditions or epidemics strike because the community can grow their own plants in their individual housing units, to fulfill their daily needs. The proposed approach will broadly apply the process tha is based on the principle of “Back to Nature”. Because architecture can also be produced and become a good quality design without damaging nature, but rathe utilizing it to its full potential of what already exist and provided by God.

PROJECT Indonesia is a multi-islands country. Countless beaches are located in DESCRIPTION Indonesia, becoming one of most visited places by tourists. But, there are also increasing needs of housing around the area, where people wouldn’t need to live too far away from the tourists’ spot for a living. A floating house is one of the solution for this, where people can live and make money altogeher, while preserving Indonesia’s beaches and its beauty.
