How Do I Find Books in the Library?

Casey and Hovey Libraries use the Dewey Decimal Classification system to organize and classify the collection. Locate a call number or item location in the Library Catalog: Casey Library: https://mwrlibrary.armybiznet.com/search~S4/ Hovey Library: https://mwrlibrary.armybiznet.com/search~S5/

1. Go to Library Online Catalog (OPAC). 2. Search the catalog using keywords relevant to your desired items (author, title, subject etc.). 3. Click the title of an item to see its detailed bibliographical information, call number and location in the

Library. If the Library does have a copy of the book you want and it is available on the shelf, the status 'Available' will be indicated. 4. Write down the call number to locate the item on the library bookshelves. 5. If you don’t know how to locate books with call numbers, you can ask the library staff at check-out desk for help. 6. What do I do if the book is not on the shelf?

Ask a library staff. It may be waiting to be shelved, checked out or missing. A library staff can help you find a suitable alternative if needed, or Interlibrary Loan(ILL).

CELEBRATE NATIONAL INVENTORS’ MONTH IN AUGUST 2020

Inventor’s Month is dedicated to recognizing the creativity of inventors everywhere, dead and alive, and of course encouraging everybody to get inventive. How to Celebrate Inventor’s Month:

1. To think about what your own favorite inventions are, and how much you appreciate the person who came up with them. 2. To look into patenting an invention of your own. It is estimated that the average person has one or two ideas every month that could make them rich if they just had the courage to make their dreams reality!
