Army Family Action Plan
The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is your platform to voice quality-of-life issues, feedback, ideas, and suggestions. It’s the best way to let Army leadership know about what works, what doesn’t, and how you think problems can be resolved. Coffee Talk Tuesdays will be held at K-16 every Tuesday at 0900 to discuss issues and how to improve services for the community. You can submit issues by visiting https://home.army.mil/yongsan/ and submitting an ICE comment under ‘Family’ ‘DFMWR Army Community Service: AFAP. The information you submit gives Army leadership insight and helps foster a satisfied, informed, and resilient Army Community.

Education for Professionals: Training for first responders & mandated reporters (Child and Youth Services, Medical, and Law enforcement personnel) and other community agencies on the identification, reporting, and treatment of domestic and child abuse; the referral process; available programs, services, and resources. 6 August, 0900-1100, Virtual Training, “Will I Ever See You Again?” by Guest Speaker Ms. Veraunda Jackson. Stress Management:
An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of stress and introduce an array of stress management techniques.
Anger/Conflict Management:
An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of anger and learn an array of anger management/conflict resolution strategies and techniques.
Successful Co- Parenting (After or Before Divorce):
Divorce is a challenging experience for both parents and their children. Many states require parenting courses that helps increase knowledge and resiliency in families that will be experiencing coparenting. This class may meet your state requirements.
Emergency Placement Care Training:
Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Providing a temporary safe home to children at risk of abuse and neglect may be an option for you. Please contact the Family Advocacy Program Manager at 738-7505.

While supplies last, Recordable Storybooks will be available to pick up at ACS Yongsan, K-16 & Casey. The illustrated Recordable Storybook will comfort your little one’s when they miss you the most and can listen to as many times as it takes them to feel you near. Victim Advocacy Program
Required annually training for Soldiers, Senior Leaders, & Commanders IAW AR 608-18, Army Family Advocacy Program. Educates individuals on the dynamics of domestic and child abuse; command policy; community programs, services, resources; the identification, reporting, and referral process.

Relocation Program
Lending Closet - If you are In/Out-Processing and need essentials like pots and pans, coffee maker and other kitchen items until your HHGs arrive or after your HHGs are picked up, stop by and borrow from our lending closet for up to 30 days. (Extensions granted for extenuating circumstances.) All Cultural Tours have been suspended at this time for the health and safety of the community. We will announce when it is safe to resume.
Financial Readiness Program
One-on-one counseling and group education on personal finance is provided for Soldiers, Family members, and civilians in support of Unit Commanders, First Sergeants, FRGs, and more.
August is full of Financial Readiness observances, classes and activities for us. 1 August is Taxpayer Appreciation Day. This is a great day to review your withholding from your LES. Is it too much, too little? Use the IRS tax withholding estimator as a resource tool: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-withholding-estimator 8 August is National Dollar Day! This month Financial Readiness is partnering with Family Advocacy on a home craft project for your children to celebrate. Come by ACS to pick up a piggy bank for your child to decorate along with a sheet of fun facts about the dollar for your children. Encourage savings at a young age! 14 August is National Financial Awareness Day! Financial Awareness Day is a great time to review where you are now and where you’re going financially. This month Financial Readiness classes on K-16 focus on two major milestones: 10 August from 0930 – 1130: Divorce: This 12 video series by DoD Financial Readiness and checklist “Financial Implications of Divorce” covers: 1. Divorce course overview, 2, Documents, 3. Transition to Financial Planning –Part 1, 4. Budget, 5. Bank Accounts/Bill Paying/ Emergency Funds, 6. Credit, 7. Transition to Financial PlanningPart2, 8. Retirement Planning, 9. Life Insurance, 10. Property/Health/ Disability Insurance, 11. Housing and Vehicles, 12. Recap and Final Wrap Up. Army Emergency Relief (AER) – Soldiers Taking Care of Soldiers
AER provides emergency financial assistance to active duty service members, their families, and retired service members and is located with ACS Financial Readiness. Please contact ACS at 738-7505. If it is after hours, on a weekend or holiday, Emergency Financial Assistance can be obtained from AER through the American Red Cross Call Center 1-877-272-7337 (or from DSN: 94 then 877-272-7337). Military & Family Life Consultant Program
MFLC’s provide short term non-medical, situational, problem-solving counseling services to Service Members and their families. Licensed counselors are available to meet individuals, couples, families or groups, and can meet anywhere on base except in housing. All services are confidential and no records are maintained.
