QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

CAMP RED CLOUD

The “Gridiron Challenge” Program at Gateway Club, Warrior’s Club, and Iron Triangle Club on Camp Casey & Hovey is geared towards football fans that love a great challenge. This program provides fans the opportunity to show their knowledge of the game, by picking the most winners weekly. There is no cost to play the “Gridiron Challenge.” There are five parts to the Challenge – Here is some information you should know.

1) 17 WEEKS- REGULAR SEASON Gridiron Challenge will run 17 weeks, starting 5 September through 3 February 2019 you can get your entry form and make your picks at the event held every Wednesday from 1700-1900 at Gateway Club, Warrior’s Club, and Iron Triangle Club. Entry forms will showcase the games scheduled for the forth-coming week. Your entry form must be turned into the staff at the event at or before 1900. When you receive your first entry form you will receive information explaining the “tie-breaker” on the reverse side. Only one entry per week. - Each week the person with the most wins will receive selected weekly prize. - A photo will be taken of all winners and displayed in among Gateway Club, Warrior’s Club, and Iron Triangle Club. All weekly winners names (17) will be placed in a drawing and the 1st winner will have a free steak & egg breakfast and VIP seating at the Super Bowl Party at Gateway Club for themselves and five friends.

2) CUMULATIVE PRIZES The total wins that each participant picks will be recorded each week and kept on file at Gateway, Warrior’s, and Iron Triangle Club. This sheet will be available for all to view on the Gridiron Challenge Board. The top 3 players with the most wins after week 17 will receive a $500 cash (1st Place), $300 cash (2nd Place) and $200 cash (3rd Place).

Once the playoff teams are determined the participant with the most correct teams will win a $200 cash. There will be a tie-breaker for the Playoff Picks: Once the playoff teams are determined you must pick which teams will win each game. The format will be the same as during the regular season. ANDONG HAHOE FOLK VILLAGE TOUR (UNESCO World Heritage) SUNDAY, 2 SEPTEMBER Labor Day Weekend CAMP CASEY

Admission and transportation: $40 Only 40 slots available for trip and bring Korean won for food and souvenirs.

INTRODUCTION Hahoe Village is home to descendants of the Ryu clan of Pungsan and is well-known for its traditional houses. Birthplace of renowned scholars of the Joseon Period such as Gyeomam Ryu Un-ryong and Seoae Ryu Seong-ryong, the village became even more famous after Queen Elizabeth of England visited on 21 April 1999. Hahoe Village (translating to “Village Enveloped by Water”) gets its name from Nakdong River, which flows around the town’s perimeter. The village is located at the foothills of Hwasan Mountain, an offshoot of Taebaek Mountain that rises up to the east. The center of the village is populated by large tile-roofed houses belonging to the Ryu clan, adding their own unique charm to the surrounding thatched roofs.

Try the Andong Soju (distilled alcoholic beverage), Heotjesabap (a type of Bibimbap eaten by the nobles), Andong Gangodeungeo (salted mackerel), and Andong Guksu (a kind of noodle dish). Nearby attractions include Bongjeongsa Temple (built during the Silla Period), Gosan Seowon (Confucian Academy), Gwiraejeong, Gyemyeongsan Mountain Recreational Forest, Hakgasan Mountain Recreational Forest, and Waryongsan Mountain. Hahoe Village, along with Yangdong Village in Gyeongju, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List under the category of “Historic Villages in Korea” on 31 July 2010. Andong Mask Dance Festival is held every autumn. Available Facilities: Seunggojae (Traditional Hahoetal Mask Specialty Store), Buyongsanghoe (Hahoetal Mask shop), restaurants and hanok stay 24
