Dear Reader We are at the tail end of the year. I hope it has been one of learning and inspiration. If you experienced difficulties whether at home or in school, don’t worry. We have to learn from mistakes that we make and situations that arise. This is the way of the school of life. Society is developing a new normal for us all. Things are moving forward and between face masks, vaccinations, social distancing and awareness….we will all be fine.
As we approach the holidays, look for ways to promote, engage, and inspire everyone to move to or continue their journey into veganism. We are progressing everyday. We are counting on you to also do your part. If your school is having a party remind them to include vegan food. At your family gatherings, remind them to provide vegan food, as it is the healthiest for all. On any occasion, whether during holidays or not, vegan food is the way to go for the planet, the animals and our health. We are fighting a fight to save the world and all its inhabitants. While you continue your vegan lifestyle….You are a hero for all. Hero-ism. Humanity is progressing, toward proper animal-rights… but, still, this world, needs help. Would you like to be a big friend to animals? Well, did you know, …you are being a friend to animals, whenever you bring vegan-food to a party. Whenever you say the word “vegan” …you are reminding people, of something they really really really want to remember, way down deep in their heart: “animals want to be happy …and animals deserve to be happy.” Can you be loving to animals and make Our World a more positive planet? This is the kind of hero …Earth is looking for… among kids. Spread vegan-food… around… all over the place…?... YES. Since the holidays are near, I am already looking, for seasonal ways to: (hopefully), inspire everyone to “Go vegan” ...“keep going vegan” …all throughout this merry season. Food is an easy way to “introduce veganism to others” …because people like to eat. If you would like to go vegan, I commend you, and can help with providing information on the transition and the science behind veganism. -----------------------------------------------------------------------As always, I am here to help. If you have questions for me, my e-mail is: welcome22day@gmail.com ---Nancy---

Youth Power Youth Zone There are plenty of young individuals standing up for animal rights, climate change, and vegan whole food plant-based eating. We commend you. We Thank you!
The Raven Corps is a youth-powered movement and nonprofit based out of Portland, Oregon in the US. It supports, empowers and mobilizes a growing community of young antioppression activists and changemakers (Ravens) aged 15-22 who promote liberation, justice, and sustainability through advocacy projects known as ‘operations. The vegan organization was co-founded by Claire Howe, who serves as its executive director and is named after the species of bird that is resourceful but often goes unappreciated in society – much like young people. There are several ‘Corps’ that focus on a specific area and these are organized and run by a Lead Raven who determines and guides their Corps’ focus and actions.
Young adults are not too young, to get involved. Read about these inspiring kids changing the world.

Let’s Eat! Vegan Pizza Rolls Prep Time: 30 minutes Cook Time: 35 minutes Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes Servings: 8 pizza rolls Instructions - Cont’d 4. Make the sundried tomato pesto: 5. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and process until you have a coarse
paste. 6. Assemble the rolls: 7. Spray or brush a 10-inch cast iron or non-stick skillet or a cake pan with oil. 8. Roll out the pizza dough into a 16 by 12 inch rectangle. If it's too difficult to roll, cover the dough with a kitchen towel to let it relax, wait five minutes or so, and then roll it out. 9. Layer the veggies over the dough, going all the way to the edges except one long seam where you will seal the dough. Scatter the mozzarella shreds, if using, over the veggies. 10. With the long side of the rectangle facing you, roll the dough gently -- like you would a jelly roll, until you have a long cylinder. Press in the seam along the long side to seal. 11. With a sharp knife, cut the cylinder into eight pieces. Place them in the skillet or baking pan. If veggies fall out as you lift the rolls into the pan, scatter them in the middle and over the top of the rolls. They'll look really pretty as they bake. 12. Cover with a kitchen towel and set aside in a warm place for an hour to rise. 13. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. 14. Bake the pizza rolls in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until golden. Remove, cool on a rack for five minutes, then serve by themselves or with marinara on the side

Did you know… Animals - Peacocks 1. 2. 3.

13. 14. 15.
Peacocks take three years to grow their tail feathers. Peacocks naturally shed their feathers every year after mating season. While a group of any peafowl is called a harem, a group of females is known as a bevy, a muster, or a party when they are in groups without the males. Peacocks can fly, but they stay on the ground most of the time. “Peacock" is commonly used as the name for a peafowl of the pheasant family. But in fact, "peacock" is the name for the colorfully plumaged male peafowl only. Peafowl does not enjoy living alone and tends to stay within small groups as they are highly sociable and dependent birds. Female peacocks are actually peahens, not peacocks. Babies are peachicks. Peacock feathers accounts for 60 percent of the bird's total body length and with a wingspan measuring 5 feet, it is one of the largest flying birds in the world. Peacocks are said to produce a sound which humans can't hear. Apart from this sound, the Peacock possesses a beautiful squawk voice. Their distinct squawk can easily be heard from a reasonable distance. Peafowls can make 11 different sounds. Peafowl birds are a social species. Aside from forming groups among their own kind, they also like interacting with humans. They show it by showing altruism or attachment towards the chosen ones. Peacocks are well known for their beautiful appearance and sweet voice. The Peacock can spread its feathers in a beautiful semicircle, and when it does so, it is said to be dancing. Peacocks have a graceful walking style which makes them look like royal creatures. The large colorful “tail” they have become known for is called a “train.” Peafowls have four toes on each foot. These birds like to play under the sunlight.

How You Can Get Started …In Activism Are you ready to be a Vegan-Activist? If you’re wondering, how you can get started, here are some suggestions:
Has anyone ever told you that you’re too young to change the world? YOU are not!
There are a many youth activists motivating change around the world. With a mission to raise the next generation of activists and leaders for climate change, social justice, racial justice, veganism and more. We support, promote, and congratulate each and everyone of them.
The goal is to create a world where every person has the same opportunities. One way is to speak up and speak out. Learn, engage, and share your activism. There are many ways to help all living beings, whether human or nonhuman insuring equality for all. Activism is one way. Whether you write a letter to your member of Congress, sign petitions, or march in the streets, if you’re working to solve the root cause of a problem, you’re an activist. You can be an activist for animal rights. You can be an activist for the environment. You can be an activist for ending world hunger. You can be an activist for health. You can be an activist for education.
In other words, you can speak up about injustices everywhere. It is your future, and you should have a say at what needs changing in order to heal the planet and move to a more compassionate way of living. Read some books to help you be a change maker, an activist.
As always, I’m here to help any way I can. welcome22day@gmail.com

Environment What is Land Pollution? Land pollution can be one of the most visible types of pollution. You see trash outside of buildings or on the side of the road. You may see a large landfill or dump. This type of land pollution not only can hurt animals and their habitats, but also is ugly and destroys the beauty of nature.
Other types of land pollution like mining, farming, and factories can allow for harmful chemicals to enter into the soil and water. These chemicals can cause animals and plants to die, disrupting the food chain. Landfills release the greenhouse gas methane, which may lead to global warming. Different kinds of land pollution have been known to have adverse affects on the health of animals and humans. The harmful chemicals that can get into the soil and water can cause cancers, deformities, and skin problems.

Environment
The environment is everything around us. All our surroundings including the air, soil, water, plants, and animals make up the environment. Plants and animals need a healthy environment to survive.
