Creating the Bath & Body Work's ‘A Thousand Wishes’ splash was a fun learning experience. Although it looks like a simple image with a product, it took a bit of work to create the light pink tones in the background color. I used 18 pink colored sticky notes to cover the top of the white light bulbs to create the pink hue in the background. My objective was to highlight the golden glitters of the bottle design.

For the OP Summer Breeze Fragrance, I wanted to create a new concept for its presentation. I had the idea to take the products summer theme and place it in four different backgrounds representing the four seasons of the year. This way I was able to show that this fragrance is not only for summertime; instead it could be used all year long. I created the illusions of spring, summer, autumn and winter by placing the bottle of fragrance in: Crushed Almonds – To make it look like summer beach sand Green patch of grass – Representing springtime Dry Brown and Yellow Leaves – As fallen leaves in autumn White Sheet of Cotton – Simulating winter snow

My motivation to photograph the ‘Herbal Essences Rose Hips Conditioner’ came from its main ingredient: Roses. As an inspiration, I placed the bottle in a patch of grass in my front lawn when I quickly noticed how one of the roses from my garden had bloomed. I took its petals and placed them around the bottle as an attempt to show the main ingredient of the conditioner. I didn't have enough petals to experiment and make extravagant shapes, but I used the few petals I had to make a spiral come out of the bottle that would catch the eyes attention and draw it to the product.

This advertising photo session features a Red lipstick from ‘NYX cosmetics’ brand. In these photos I wanted to demonstrate how the lipstick color looks like by placing lip shaped stains as a background pattern. I made these by applying this lipstick shade on myself and kissing a rectangular piece of white cardboard multiple times. This was the first product I ever photographed.

As a challenge, I picked the ‘Guinness’ Dark brew beer to photograph. I want to incorporate drink products into my work and thought this was a good start. It was a simple shoot with a plain black background, yet I faced some small challenges during the production. My first challenge was to keep the bottles cold so they wouldn’t wet the cardboard background. I managed to keep them from dripping by taking turns in a small cooler with ice. My second challenge and last challenge was to make the beer foam last long enough to take some pictures. I used dish soap to make the foam denser and longer lasting.

My inspiration for photographing the new ‘Pepsi’s Mini’ cans sparked from a Pepsi Company Instagram post where the followers were challenged to guess the size of the new cans. I thought it was a great advertising idea, yet there were no pictures to accompany the challenge. The post and the upcoming Halloween Day motivated me to place the Mini cans with a Halloween Jack o Lantern Candy Basket. I used the cans size to my advantage by demonstrating it is the right size to even give out during Halloween Day instead of candy.

The “Lipton Lemon Iced Tea’ product photographs were another small challenge I gave myself. These pictures are the result of a combination between an empty plastic cup with lid and an empty bottle of Lipton lemon tea drink. By using color dyes, black chia tea bags and a funnel I was able to create a brown orange colored liquid similar to the Lipton Iced tea. I also placed this liquid in a cup, sliced a green lemon and added a few mint leaves to create the photograph aesthetic.

I have noticed that glasses are one of the accessories commonly sold on digital platforms. I wanted to create my own advertising photos of sunglasses as advertising content for online sales and promotions. For this reason, I took these pictures with enough space for advertising text. As simple as it is, this was one of my favorite sessions to shoot because of how the white background makes the glasses stand out.

The "Imagine Dragons Cover" is a piece I created using an alternative genre music CD and a photographic technique called "light painting" or painting with light to produce an image. This photographic technique of painting with light is created in the dark by using external light sources in a long exposure camera setting. I was able to create the blue light shade in the background of the CD by lightly moving a black light lamp during the exposure. Although music CD’s aren’t as popular as online streaming anymore, I experimented in trying to create this photograph for this product. PAGE 34

As another project to experiment, I used five bottles of ‘Bettina’s Nail Polish’ to create advertisement photographs in a much colorful way. By using similar tones of purple and pink, I decided to present the real color of the products by dripping some of the polish out of all the bottles. In the end, I developed this idea to demonstrate a different advertising style for these cosmetics that could be used for the brands social networks pages and Web pages.

In order to create these pictures, I decided to make my own miniature studio or ‘Light Box’. I mounted two cardboard boxes to create a space for the products to be photographed.
I cut two square shapes on the sides of the box and covered them with double sheets of wax paper in order to diffuse the light coming in from the lamps.
With different colored boards I created the different backgrounds for each picture.

I placed this small studio in my living room and the process was quite messy, but not impossible
I used post it notes to cover up the light bulbs and create other colors depending on the product.
This was the shoot for the Bath & Body Works splash..

After a while, I realized the box was too small for some photos. I modified the box and made it taller by cutting the top part and adding new cardboard walls.
Here 's a picture of me starting to work with the bigger Light Box for the Pepsi Mini photographs.

For the Lipton Tea pictures I had to create a liquid substance that would simulate the tea.
I used food dyes, a funnel, black chia tea and water to make the brown color.
Also, I added mint leaves and a lemon from my garden to demonstrate the ingredients of the actual Lipton Tea.
