Diana Burbano (Antonia/ Leona; she/her/ella), a Colombian immigrant, is a playwright, an Equity actor, and a teaching artist at South Coast Repertory and Breath of Fire Latina Theatre Ensemble. Diana’s play Ghosts of Bogotá was commissioned and debuted at Alter Theater in the Bay Area in February 2020. Diana played Amalia in Jose Cruz Gonzales’ American Mariachi at South Coast Repertory and Arizona Theatre Company, and Marisela in La Ruta at Artists Repertory. You can also see her as Viv the Punk in the cult musical Isle of Lesbos.

Ricardo Gutierrez (Don Napoleon/Silvano; he/him/ his) is delighted to be working with Arizona Theatre Company for the first time. Regional credits include The Dallas Theatre Center, South Coast Repertory, Actors Theatre in Louisville and The Denver Center Theatre. Ricardo is the former Executive Artistic Director of Teatro Vista, where he recently directed Hope and the world premieres of The Madres and The Wolf at the End of the Block.
Jerreme Rodriguez (The Narrator; he/him/his) was last seen in Austin, Texas in The Watchmakers Song with Ventana Ballet. At The Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret, he originated the role of Kenny in the World Premier of The Double-Threat Trio and played Paco in Miss Abigail’s Guide … opposite Paige Davis. Other Pittsburgh credits include: Luke in Dance Nation with Barebones Productions; Looking for Violeta with Quantum Theater, Jimmy Ray in Bright Star with Front Porch Theatricals, Oscar in Sweat at The Pittsburgh Public Theater, Lucian in Wig Out! with The Pittsburgh Rep, and several shows with Pittsburgh Musical Theater. Johanna Carlisle-Zepeda A (Julia; she/her/hers) is a proud Arizona native bicoastal performer living in Phoenix and Boston. She has spent the last few years writing, directing and performing for theater-goers in her self-produced show Musical Schmoozicals. She is also known for her involvement and dedication to the development of new works by not only acting for many seasons but directing new works. She originated the role of Felicitas Valdovinos in the world premiere of Americano! The Musical in January 2020. Regional Theatre credits include: Inez in The View Upstairs, Beatriz in Miss You Like Hell, Abuela Claudia in In the Heights, Mayor, Ma, and Nun in The Toxic Avenger, Yente in Fiddler on the Roof, Madame Thernardier in Les Miserables, Truvy in Steel Magnolias, Effy in Spitfire Grill, directed by the incomparable Brad Carroll, and Widow Corney in Oliver!, conducted by the outstanding Tito Munoz with The Phoenix Symphony.
Nick Carroll (Stage Management Intern; he/him/ his) is currently a junior at the University of Michigan majoring in Theatre Design & Production with a concentration in Stage Management. Regional: Chautauqua Opera Company (Asst. to the Director of Production), upcoming Stage Management Intern at The Muny for Summer 2021. University of Michigan: Stage Management experience includes 2021 Musical Theatre Showcase. Reginald Douglas (Director; he/him/his) is a director, producer, and advocate dedicated to creating new work and supporting new voices. He has worked at theaters across the country, including directing work at Eugene O’Neill Center, TheaterWorks Hartford, CATF, Everyman Theatre, Weston Playhouse, Pittsburgh CLO, Theatre Squared, Playwrights Center, Profile Theatre, Kennedy Center, The Lark, New York Theatre Workshop, and City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, where he served as the Artistic Producer from 2015-2020. Glenn Bruner (Production Stage Manager; he/him/ his) is in his 23rd season at ATC, where he has stage managed over 60 productions, most recently including Master Harold, Silent Sky, August Wilson’s Two Trains Running, Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End, The Diary of Anne Frank, Outside Mullingar, Chapter Two, La Esquinita USA, An Act of God, and Of Mice and Men. He has been the voice for many radio and television commercials, and worked onair for Texas Public Radio in his hometown of San Antonio. For the past 19 summers Bruner has been a member of the entertainment production staff for Major League Baseball’s All Star FanFest. He was the 2012 recipient of the Lucy Jordan Recognition Award, presented annually by the Western
Kristin Leahey (Dramaturg; she/her/hers) served as the Director of New Works at Seattle Repertory Theatre, the Resident Dramaturg at Northlight Theatre, and, prior to that post, the Literary Manager at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. She has freelanced as an artist with the O’Neill

She’s served as a scholar/artist-in-residence at Weber State University, Walla Walla University, and the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival. Her publications include articles in Theatre Topics, Theatre History, and Theatre Studies, and she has taught at Cornish College, DePaul University of Chicago, Columbia College, Loyola University Chicago, The University of Austin, and Lake Michigan College. Leahey is a board member at Seattle’s Intiman Theatre. She is a producer with the WP 2020-22 Lab in New York City and is a 2021 recipient of a Fulbright.
Vaibu Mohan A (Assistant Director; she/her/hers) is an Indian-American writer, singer, songwriter, dancer, and storyteller currently based in Brooklyn. Vaibu began her journey has a Bharatanatyam dancer (South Indian classical dancer) and Carnatic vocalist. She gained a deep appreciation for the stories she was told and portrayed as a child through music and dance, and her love for storytelling brought her to the world of musical theatre. Vaibu received her Bachelors of Music in musical theatre performance from ASU and is currently receiving her MFA in musical theatre writing at the NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Vaibu made her debut as a director at ASU with the show Fly By Night and has credits as a leader producer on The Color Cabaret (ASU) and Zoom For The Holidays, a show with all original music crafted for the 2020 holiday season. Vaibu is dedicated to creating anti-racist theatre pieces that highlight BIPOC voices, and her personal mission is to bring more South Asians into the theatre on stage, backstage, on the creative team, and in the audience. This piece is dedicated to her artistic ancestors who continued to create and tell stories even in the face of adversity. Brian Quijada (Playwright/Composer; he/him/ his) is an actor, playwright, and composer whose original work has been developed and produced all across the country. His hip hop solo show Where Did We Sit on the Bus? has been produced at Victory Gardens, Teatro Vista (Jeff Award), Ensemble Studio Theatre (Drama Desk Nomination), Boise Contemporary, 1st Stage, City Theatre Pittsburgh, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and Geva Theatre. His plays have been developed at The Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center, Pittsburgh CLO’s Spark Festival, Victory Gardens’ Ignition Festival, New Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Festival, and The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Musical Theatre Conference. Commissioning institutions include Seattle Repertory Theater, A.R.T., and The Kennedy Center. He is a proud member of The Ensemble Studio Theatre.

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP Sean Daniels A (Artistic Director) is honored to be in his second season at ATC, where he first fell in love with theatre.
Sean has directed at Manhatta n Theatre Club (The Lion, Drama Desk Award & Theatre World Award, nominated for Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle), 59e59 (NYC, I and You, nominated for Outer Critics Circle), Lynn Redgrave (NYC), The Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), St. James (West End, London - The Lion, winner of Best New Musical), Arena Stage, A.C.T. (San Francisco), Milwaukee Rep, Old Globe, Geffen (L.A.), Actors Theatre of Louisville, Portland Center Stage, Geva Theatre, Playmakers Rep, Cleveland Play House, Alliance Theatre, California Shakespeare, Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, City Theatre, Swine Palace, Neo-Futurists, Aurora Theatre, Crowded Fire, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Sean has been named “one of the top fifteen up and coming artists in the U.S., whose work will be transforming America’s stages for decades to come” and “One Of 7 People Reshaping And Revitalizing The American Musical” by American Theatre magazine. His direction and shows have won “Best Play” and “Best Director” in London, Bay Area, Boston, Portland, Rochester, and Atlanta. He was previously the Artistic Director of Merrimack Repertory Theatre, where he received national attention for his multiple artistic engagement programs that brought the community inside the organization. He’s also served as the Artist-At-Large for Geva Theatre Center and spent four years at the Tony Award®-winning Actors Theatre of Louisville as the theatre’s Associate Artistic Director (where he directed 17 productions including five Humana Festivals). Mr. Daniels is the former Associate Artistic Director/Resident Director of the California Shakespeare Theater, and before that, he spent a decade as the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Dad’s Garage Theater Company in Atlanta. He has developed new work with the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, Ars Nova, PlayPenn, Lark, PlayLabs, New York Stage and Film, Asolo Rep, Goodspeed Opera, Weston Playhouse, Bay Area Playwrights, and Magic Theatre, and he was the first American director asked to attend the Baltic American Playwrights Conference in Hiiumaa, Estonia. As a playwright, his work has been produced at Actors Theatre of Louisville, City Theatre, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, and Dad’s Garage. He was the first ever playwright authorized by the Jack Kerouac Estate to adapt his work for the stage. The Commercial Off-Broadway run of his sober comedy The White Chip was produced by fivetime Tony Award* nominee Tom Kirdahy. EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP Geri Wright A (Managing Director) returned to Arizona Theatre Company in January 2020. Her love of theatre started at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on a school field trip and has grown into a passion for the arts today. Having served in leadership roles at the Heard Museum, American Red Cross, Arizona Theatre Company and most recently as CEO of Act One, Geri has been a passionate advocate for the importance that the arts play in creating healthy and prosperous communities. With more than 25 years in nonprofit management and fundraising experience, she is thrilled to be able to put those skills to use in serving our state theatre. In 2019, Geri was recognized as one of the Outstanding Women in Business by the Phoenix Business Journal and has been honored with an assortment of acknowledgments for her work in the charitable community. Geri and her family, along with two horses and an Australian cattle dog, reside at the base of the McDowell Mountains.

Gives students ages 13-19 the opportunity to create their own projects, performances, and organize events to grow themselves as artists and people.
