Cresco Cress Micro Leaves Special Leaves Special Herbs Taste of the Sea Edible Flowers

Cresco has been growing cress in the heart of the Netherlands’ Westland region, one of the world’s premier greenhouse horticulture areas, since 1958. Cresco founded cress cultivation in the Netherlands and the company has been nurturing a wide range of healthy delicious treats for four generations. Micro Sensations in flavours, fragrances and colours. ‘Cresco’ means fast growing in Latin, which applies as equally to the dynamism and development of the company as it does to our products. These days Cresco is well recognised as ‘the leading producer of quality cresses’. Exclusive cultivation method Cresco has been a family-run business since the start in 1958. The company recently welcomed the fourth generation into its fold. The specialist cultivation method which the Prins family developed in the early years is essentially still the way the cress is cultivated today. This is something our clients appreciate as this delivers extremely high quality cresses. Refined tastes, aromatic scents and a raised content of healthy nutrients form the core of our wonderful products.

Since 1958

Growing superior quality cress the artisan way; it’s what we do.

The master’s expert eye; ‘from seed to strength’ Growing cresses is a real specialism. The seeds are placed on a cultivation medium where, under carefully calibrated conditions, they germinate and sprout to become small plants. The moment these plants reach an optimum height, they are harvested in a process which leaves the cresses attached to the cultivation medium. The cultivation process is monitored under a vigilant eye at all times, as each type of cress from our large selection grows at an individual pace and demands specific cultivation conditions. Cresco’s work method is informed by our belief that the best results are only achieved by ‘constantly being on top of things’; literally casting ‘the master’s eye’. Craft, passion and service Our company has modernised over the years, however some things never change. Cresco’s central values remain what they always have been and are still cherished today; cultivation with a passion underpinned by a love for the product. Today, as in previous times, our clients can always rely entirely on us. Service with a capital S. And if it is within our power, we try every day to do just that little bit extra, run just that bit faster. We are certainly not satisfied until your customers are. Our clients truly appreciate this approach.

Sustainable We work with respect for man, nature and the environment; for us this is the most normal thing in the world. For example we never use pesticides, preferring to keep our cresses healthy by harnessing nature.

When sowing, harvesting and packing we record our cresses in batches. This means that our products can always be traced to our company in the chain and of course we are always proud and happy to have our products linked to our company. The kind of reliance that inspires you as well as your customers, the end consumers. We are also Global-Gap certified and our garden cress carries the EKO quality symbol. For hygienic considerations we avoid surface water, preferring to use tap water in the cultivation process to limit the possibility of negative external influencers and to safeguard the highest quality.
