NATURAL DYING

VAT DYING Vat dyeing is a process that refers to dyeing that takes place in a bucket or vat. The original vat dye is indigo, once obtained from plants but now produced synthetically.

The process involves making natural dyes from naturally occurring ingredients and then using them to impart colour to yarn, fabrics and other textiles.

INDIGO • Indigo is a deep and rich color close to the color wheel blue as well as to some variants of ultramarine. It is traditionally regarded as a color in the visible spectrum, as well as one of the seven colors of the rainbow: the color between violet and blue; however, sources differ as to its actual position in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Denim manufactured •

Denim is made from rugged tightly woven twill. Lengthwise, the yard is dyed with indigo or blue dye; horizontal yarns remain white. Denim is an indigo-dyed cotton twill fabric in which the weft passes under two or more warp fibers.

A denim fabric is defined as a 100% woven coon or union cloth with the raos of 2:1 or 3:1 twill ssue using a warp, 7–20 Ne of coon yarn (indigo vat dyeing), and the we, unbleached yarn of 10–15 Ne. A surface of the denim fabric shows a blue color while the inside color shows a white color family only.
