martin’s lane riesling 2012 Martin’s Lane Riesling is an inspired collaboration by winemakers John Simes and Fritz Hasselbach, together with proprietor Anthony von Mandl. Named for Dr. Martin von Mandl, Anthony’s late father, this hillside grown, limited edition wine was sourced from the finest Riesling grapes grown on the steepest portion of our estate vineyards on Mission Hill Road and Naramata Ranch.
Martin’s Lane Riesling a genuine rarity.
John Simes describes both sites as near-perfect, self-contained micro-terroirs with excellent drainage, southwesterly aspect and ideal lake effect. Like all of our top-of-the-line wines, this sophisticated and stylish “micro-cuvee” represents the purest and most natural expression of vineyards, grape and vintage. Tasting Notes: The 2012 Martin’s Lane Riesling bursts with intense aromas of orange blossoms and lime-scented peach. Pure-tasting flavours of pear tart and yellow plum, with a creamy frame to the bright minerally inner core. The finish is long and lush on the finish, offering vibrant, mouthwatering acidity with plenty of snap.
