A Virtual Opening with the Artist
in Conversation with Art Consultant & Director Emerita of the Bass Museum Diane Camber Carol Fryd majored in fine arts at the University of Miami where she studied with Richard Merrick and Paul Reno. After graduation, Fryd studied extensively with James and Nieves Billmyer, star pupils of Hans Hofmann, and was a founding member of the Continuum Gallery, a major force in the Miami Art Scene for over 40 years. A native Floridian, the vivid yellow light of the Miami sun, the rich cerulean blues of the ocean, beach scenes, Florida trees and flowers, all inspire her and are reflected in her palette and subject matter.
