He studied engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He manages a real estate investment business, yet purposely commits significant time and energy to numerous Jewish organizations, including the RASG Hebrew Academy, where he is currently Chair of the Board, Friends of Bar Ilan University and the Aleph Institute. MOJDEH KHAGHAN DANIAL also was born and raised in Iran and immigrated to the US in 1979. She graduated from Columbia College, obtained a law degree from Columbia University and practiced securities litigation in New York and Miami. Moj served as President of Women’s Philanthropy for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation; the last four years have been committed to the Public Health Trust of Jackson Health System, where she currently serves as Vice Chair, along with her significant, continued Federation leadership. She was regarded a Woman of Valor by Florida Friends of the IDF and received the 2008 Stanley C. Myers President’s Leadership Award from the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

Mojdeh & Robert Danial

The Danials moved to Miami Beach in 1995 and they have been committed to building the MBJCC since the beginning. Moj and Robert served as the Chairpersons for the Capital Campaign that was responsible for securing funds to build the Center in 2012. As Founding Members of the Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC on the Simkins Family Campus, the Danials have been part of several event and program committees over the years and Co-Chaired last year’s Inaugural Founders Reception. Their three sons are proud and active MBJCC members, even while they are in college in NYC.

RANDI AND TEIG LAWRENCE are founding members of the Miami Beach Jewish Community Center’s (MBJCC) new facility. They, along with many others, worked hard to build community support for the construction of the new campus that opened its doors in late 2012. RANDI LAWRENCE has been a member of the MBJCC Board of Directors for eight years and has served as Vice President for the last five years. She Co-Chaired the Annual Gala in both 2011 and 2012, served on the Board Nominating Committee, Chairs the Camp Klurman Committee, and Co-Chairs the MBJCC Community-Wide Chanukah and Purim Festivals. Under Randi’s passionate leadership, Camp Klurman has become one of the Premier Camps on Miami Beach. In addition to her work at the MBJCC, Randi currently sits on the SLJ Committee for Temple Beth Sholom, is a member of the North Beach Elementary PTA, and participates with her family in fundraising for JAFCO. She is the past President of Future Generations (a Younger Generation of Israel Bonds), and has been on various committees for the Young Leadership Division of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Along with her family, Randi helped to launch Survivor Alone, an organization dedicated to helping Holocaust Survivors living below the poverty level.

Randi & Tieg Lawrence

Randi attended the University of South Florida and then went on to receive her law degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Law School. After law school, Randi began practicing at Krongold & Krongold, P.L. as a Real Estate Transactional Attorney. She has closed hundreds of units in significant projects including PGA in Port St. Lucie, The Icon on Brickell, and Midtown Miami. Her current and former clients include a who’s who list of developers.

TEIG LAWRENCE has served as the Chair of the MBJCC Sports Committee since 2012. Teig has dedicated his resources to build a flourishing sports program, which teaches children and teens to compete and develop their skills in a safe and nurturing environment. In 2008, Teig served as the Co-Chair of the Inaugural MBJCC Poker Tournament. The 80-player event was the largest grossing fundraiser in the history of the MBJCC, prior to the construction of the new building. In 2010, Teig chaired a second Poker Fundraiser, when it was critical for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation to see strong community support for the MBJCC prior to underwriting the bond for the construction of the new building. Teig has also served as a member of the Finance Committee and Co-Chair of Adult Color War. Teig attended the University of Florida and, he too, went on to receive his law degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Law School. Teig continued on at the University Of Miami School of Law where he earned an LL.M. in Taxation and then moved west when he accepted a position with Deloitte & Touche in Los Angeles. In 2000, Teig opened his own Tax Boutique Law Firm and taught Federal Tax Research in the Estate Planning LL.M. Program at University of Miami from 2000 until 2008. Teig’s law practice is dedicated to helping taxpayers with non-compliant foreign accounts get back into compliance with U.S. law. He is one of the few tax attorneys in America that has successfully represented taxpayers in every offshore Amnesty Program offered by the IRS. He has developed an International following for his extensive coverage of enforcement actions taken against offshore banks. Teig is particularly proud of his zealous representation of numerous Jewish families with family members who survived the Holocaust. Randi and Teig have three beautiful sons, Max (11), Mason (8), and Brody (10 months). Max and Mason participate in many activities at the MBJCC and both attend Camp Klurman during the summer. Max is the captain of the Fifth Grade Travel Basketball Team and Mason plays in the Flag Football League. Brody is looking forward to being part of many of the MBJCC’s Parent Place Programs.

Adrienne and Stevan Pardo’s roots in the Miami Beach Jewish Community date back to the early 1950’s when Stevan’s parents, Doris and Joe Pardo, were involved in the building of Temple Beth Sholom’s synagogue. More than 60 years later, Adrienne and Stevan played an integral part in the building of the Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC on the Simkins Family Campus. From the selection of the MBJCC’s project architect and contractor to the Chairing of the Construction Committee, Stevan continued a family tradition of building a stronger Jewish Community. Since the inception of the Capital Campaign, Stevan and Adrienne assisted with the fundraising efforts to help make the MBJCC a reality. Adrienne also served on the Board of the MBJCC and on the Board Nominating Committee. Adrienne, a University of Florida graduate, received her law degree from American University. Stevan, a Duke graduate, also received his law degree from Duke University. Stevan continues to lecture at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Duke Law School. Adrienne and Stevan met at Greenberg Traurig, where they were both shareholders for many years. Stevan founded Pardo Gainsburg law firm in 2002. He is a preeminent attorney specializing in real estate development, hotels and construction law. Adrienne, recognized as a leader in her land use and zoning field, used her legal expertise to assist many private developers along with non-profits, such as the Chabad of Venetian Islands, the Miami Jewish Health Systems (f/k/a the Miami Jewish Home for the Aged) and the Miami Children’s Museum, where she also served as President.

Adrienne & Stevan Pardo

Stevan and Adrienne served as Co-Chairs for the MBJCC’s Inaugural Founders Reception, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Pacesetter Event and Temple Beth Sholom’s 70th Anniversary Gala. Adrienne has also Co-Chaired the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Women’s Day and Lion of Judah events and is a past Stanley C. Myers award winner.

Adrienne and Stevan have been leaders in the Jewish Community for the past 25 years as Board Members on the Young Leadership Council for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and members of the National Young Leadership Cabinet. Stevan has been a longstanding member of Temple Beth Sholom’s Board of Trustees, is currently Vice President and chaired the rebuilding of its Sanctuary. Stevan is looking forward to chairing the MBJCC’s third floor expansion. Adrienne Chairs the MBJCC’s Arts & Culture and Social Strategic Planning Committee, Co-Chairs Temple Beth Sholom’s Social Justice Network and serves on the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Women’s Amutot Initiative, the Planning & Allocation Committee and the Women’s Philanthropy Board. She also is a mentor for Take Stock in Children and is a Grade Chair for Ransom Everglade’s Annual Giving Campaign. Helping others and giving back to her community was instilled in her by her parents Herb Friesner and Lynn Friesner. Being a leader in the Jewish Community has been a family tradition passed down to their three children. Daniel, a junior at Michigan State University, and Carly, a junior at Duke University, who are both active members of their Hillel’s. Josh, a junior at Ransom Everglades High School, is a Miami Diller Teen Fellow and a member of his Temple Beth Sholom’s Beshty Board. All three have participated in the Maccabi Games as representatives of the MBJCC and attended Alexander Muss High School in Israel. Adrienne, Stevan and their children love to work out regularly and play basketball at the MBJJC, as well as attend classes and special events. They are extremely proud to be a part of such a vibrant MBJCC. Adrienne and Stevan are extremely honored to be recognized and a part of this amazing Savor at Studio J celebration.

SAVOR // a party for a purpose

MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP The Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC on the Simkins Family Campus is now three years old. While still in our infancy, the MBJCC has had an immeasurable, positive impact on our community. That impact, and all quality programs and experiences the MBJCC is providing in so many different areas happens because an entire community came together to make the Center a reality. Part of this is due to the support of some exceptional members in our community. At Savor at Studio J - MBJCC’s Party for a Purpose on January 9, we are proud to honor three of the families whose efforts made the MBJCC a reality for our members and the community:

MOJDEH & ROBERT DANIAL RANDI & TEIG LAWRENCE ADRIENNE & STEVAN PARDO

It has been their continued dedication and commitment throughout the growth of our new facility that has ensured that the MBJCC can meet the standards of quality that are essential for success in the Miami Beach community. On behalf of our Board of Directors, Members, Donors, Program Participants and Staff, we thank these three families who have been leaders for their support and commitment from the beginning and continuing to today. Because of their vision and involvement, the future of the MBJCC is a bright one. There is no institution in Jewish communal life that fulfills as many important roles as a Jewish Community Center. The Center plays a critical role in bringing people together, from bringing the community together - orthodox to secular, reform to conservative – to connecting the Jewish community to the greater Miami Beach community. The Center also plays an important role in terms of encouraging and educating people in relationship to their Jewish heritage and the Jewish culture. We appreciate and thank all of you who continue to support the MBJCC, use our services and bring your expectations to the Center so that we can fulfill the dreams and vision of a Jewish Community Center. We strive to meet as many needs as possible in Miami Beach and to continue to enrich the lives of children, teens, adults, families and seniors seeking vibrant programs and services in a unique, inclusive environment.

SAVOR THE NIGHT WITH US S AV O R E N T E R TA I N M E N T B Y

Samantha Gibb has been writing and producing for over 15 years. She began her first recordings with her father, the late Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees. They released some early recordings under the name Luna Park. In 2003, Samantha released recordings she had worked on with her father as well as some other tracks, under the name M.E.G. (for Maurice Ernest Gibb) By 2007, she decided to move to Nashville with her band. Upon their arrival, Samantha decided to make a documentary called “A Nashville State of Mind”. The film was inspired by her and her band’s move to Nashville and the incredible musicians and talent they encountered there. The film got into over 15 film festivals and won best international music doc in 2008 at the LA/NY International film and music festival. In 2010 Samantha and her band and a new band name (Samantha Gibb and the Cartel) crossed the pond for their first U.K. tour to promote their album Wrong Side, as well as hitting up the US East Coast for an acoustic tour later that year. In February, 2012, she sang at the Hard Rock Live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL with her Uncle, Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, for his first solo concert in the US. With great success from the shows, Samantha continued to tour with her uncle until 2014. In the beginning of 2015, she sang with him again for the Miami Beach Centennial show in Miami Beach, FL. After touring Samantha started her company M.E.G. Production House with her husband, Film /Camera operator and director, Paul Landin and her writing partner and music producer, Lazaro Rodriguez. Together they create media content for themselves and other artists and musicians.

We are very proud of what you both have accomplished here at the MBJCC. Your efforts were completely worth it. You worked on a project that is going to pay dividends for years to come in shaping a Jewish Community and especially for the children of this community. You saw a need and instead of leaving it up to the next person, you took the initiative to fulfill that need. Both of you have done a great job and recognition of this kind is well-deserved.

We love you, Mom & Dad
