Chapter 1 Charlie, Julie and Jack realize that to reach their goal, new goals are required; Life is similar. The challenges of the day bring new challenges for the next day. The important thing is to find the taste of life in everything we do. Many times, the challenges we have some days are like Charlie and his friends: finding some sweets in the dessert garden. Life is full of simple and special days and more complicated days. The important thing is to go with the mentality that our day will be like receiving sweets in the dessert garden. Let's always be positive.

The place was an old building, about six levels high, with an unusual brightness. The entrance door was gigantic; images of different fantastic places were projected on its walls, landscapes never seen before by them. A vapor of different colors emerged from the ceiling, spiraling up into the sky. An exquisite aroma of vanilla and chocolate spread throughout the place. Charlie, followed by Julie and Jack, approached; when the door opened completely, they saw a light glow. They passed protecting their eyes and heard in the distance a voice that told them: -Welcome to the wonderful Hall of Dreams. At the entrance there were several white-clad creatures, which remained static; They looked like statues. Among them was a different being, similar to an ostrich, with arms and hands. The creature began to move, walked towards them, made a strange sound, opened its beak and said: -Welcome, feel at home. It is a pleasure to have you here. My name is Tosky and I work for Augustine. In case you don't know, today we celebrate Children's Day. It’s a pleasure to have you here. You will know much now just by reading your book. Charlie interrupted and said: - Tosky, there is a problem: our book is missing four pages. Do you know what happened to them? -Yes, these pages were torn off by Augustine; and instructed my brother to give them to you. By the way, you must find my brother, to obtain them and you must prove your abilities. Soon you will know what it is. Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

-Perfect, but, where do we find your brother. Tosky took a map from the bag and replied: -Use this map. My brother is in the Candle Room. Good luck. He handed the map to Charlie, after doing so, he remained static as when they first saw him. -That is so weird‌ -Yes, super weird. Charlie took the map, stretched it and, at the moment he was going to analyze it, felt the vibrations of the book inside his backpack. Frightened, he pulled out the book, opened it and realized that there was an additional written page that said: In the food area, in the dessert sector, there are candies with the logo of a star, which will allow you to see the hidden. Maybe they help you. In addition, an elf, who is in the gift park, has three gifts to give you, they will be useful in your trip. Finally, at the fair, there is an Asian child, who wears a hat and a blue bracelet. His name is Luk. He carries the key to enter the Hall of Candles, where you'll find Tosky´s brother. Good luck! Jack said: -This becomes increasingly mysterious. Why not give us the key at once, instead follow that series of instructions? I think this is pure desire to bother us! -I couldn't tell you Jack; All I know is that this world is exceptional. By the way, is it clear what we should do? -I understand that we must do four things: Find some candy with a star in the food area, in the dessert section; find Luk, the Asian child; receive some gifts in a park and find Tosky's brother, Is this correct? -Yes, what I still don't understand is what happens before what. Charlie put the book in his backpack, took out the map, stretched it and analyzing it with Julie and Jack, said: -Well, we are located at the main entrance. Then there is a lobby, followed by the food area; I think this is where we will find the dessert section. Beyond this area is the fair, the gift park and a narrow corridor that leads to another area that is not identified on the map. I guess that's where Tosky's brother is. Do you have questions? -Do not. -Perfect, then let's move on. By saying this, they began their journey. As he was identified on the map, they saw a huge hall, where several children were, talking and joking. The atmosphere was full of bright colors, which was launched through hidden air tubes everywhere. In addition to the shine, they threw sweets of all kinds; Many of the children enjoyed collecting. The whole place was incredibly conditioned, especially Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

for no one to get hurt. Julie, surprised to see and taste so many exquisite and appetizing sweets, did not hesitate to collect all that she could, as the children of the place. Meanwhile, Charlie and Jack analyzed the site. In the lobby was a large group of children, of other nationalities. Apparently, they were also human: Latinos, Chinese, Europeans, Hindus, Arabs and Africans. Charlie wondered: -Why do so many children of different nationalities come? He had not seen the hall in detail, when he looked at it, he realized that the ceiling was so high that it looked like the dome of a church. They could see through it and observed a large number of birds of different colors flying over the place. On the walls were images of characters that when saw them closed their eyes. In addition, there were spiral decorations, which hung from the ceiling and others that came out of the walls. Near the main entrance, there were images of the dreams of many of the children, who had visited this room. They also observed a very large clock; when they saw it carefully, they noticed that it indicated forty-eight numbers; the needle marked eight. It seems that in this world, every day consisted of forty-eight hours or maybe ninety six...

They could smell an exquisite aroma of pizza fresh from the oven, which dispersed and caught the attention of many children in the lobby. When they tried to identify what it was, they came to glass doors with images of fruit trees drawn on the glass. The doors were closed, but as they approached them, they automatically collapsed and entered a new sector. It was a large area where there were several food buffets, they were recipes from various regions of the World of Dreams. The children happily were heading to a fabulous dining room, where most of the tables were occupied. As they passed, they felt appetite and tried some snacks they found along the way; they looked like small pizzas of hams of different kinds and unknown cheeses; also, they tried sodas from various sources, possibly from fruits never seen by them. A chef dressed in white appeared, wearing a red cap, who approached them and asked: -Do you look for something special? Charlie replied: -Yes. We are looking for sweets that have the logo of a star. Do you know where they are? The cook was silent for a while and then said: -I guess they are the candies that are in this cabinet. Be careful. When you try them you can see strange images. The cook took a bag of candies and handed them over. They looked like marbles. There were eight of four different colors: green, red, blue and yellow. Julie was the one who received them and, for not holding them well, fell to the ground. One of the sweets, the red one, came out of the bag and Julie ran in her search; out of curiosity he put it in her mouth to taste it. The cook was going to give them a warning, but it was too late; a bubble shape came out of Julie's mouth. Charlie saw that inside was the mysterious character with a skull face and eyes of fire that he saw in the book. Distressed he asked his friends: - Do you observe it? -Do you mean the green goblin that appeared inside the bubble? Julie asked -Do you see his face? Charlie said Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

-Yes, he looks very happy. It is adorable! She replied. -No Julie, isn't she lovely, don't you see his eyes of fire and a skull face? Don't you see it Jack? Jack replied: -I also see a green goblin that looks like a stuffed plush. Do you observe something different? -Yes, I observe a being with a skull face and eyes of fire. It's scary. - How strange, because we observe a green goblin. Have you already had eye exams? -Yes, my eyes are normal. Something strange is happening to me, which I still can't explain. When I have answers, I will tell you. They looked for the cook to ask him, but they couldn't find him. Charlie took the candy from Julie's hands and placed them in his backpack. Standing, not knowing where to go, they observed that small rafts circulated from the jelly river and several children climbed on them. What they didn't know was where they would be taken. According to the map they took them to the fair. Hurriedly, they went to the place where the rafts were and climbed into one of them. Climbing was easy, as a cherub shook their hands. When they sat down, the raft began to move. After ten minutes of moving forward, near some giant marshmallows, they found a sign that said: "Welcome to the wonderful Fair of the Children's Day."

Chapter 2 Many times we have challenges like Charlie and his friends, who had to find a child at a fair, among more than ten thousand children. Life is full of challenges and, often, making a good decision makes a difference. Let's always look for the best decisions in life, with the support of our team. Our team can be our family, classmates or co-workers.

The entrance was a wooden bridge that crossed a car track. Thousands of happy children could be observed celebrating and encouraging their friends competing in car races. The vehicles were

speeds. About

vehicles competed. The track was huge, covering the entire area of the fair. In addition, there was a huge area of video games, perhaps the largest they have ever seen. The consoles were very modern and gave the feeling that you could enter the screen. There was also a playground where prizes were won. They delivered tickets that could be exchanged for prizes at a kiosk that was in the center of the fair; The children ran and had fun. In the background was a track of bumper cars and other attractions, such as a game of electromechanical rockets, a game where several balls were thrown with participants inside, looked like a pinball and a flying saucer, which rose from the ground and spun at high speed. They also observed several children flying in small planes, an exhibition of toys and another of books. Everything was great, but how would they find a child, maybe between ten thousand or more. Charlie asked: -Do you have any idea how we can find him? -The truth is that no, this is more difficult than finding the famous doll that appears in the books.

Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

-You know what? One finds the doll of the books, since in a short time one can fully visualize every place. I have an idea: Do you see the pyramid of chips that is near the bumper cars? I realized that there are several long view. Maybe we can use them and see the whole place... -Excellent idea Charlie, I think it's our best alternative. Julie was distracted and fascinated watching the machines that made stickers, she was about to leave them. Before leaving, Charlie took her arm and said: -Wait, did you forget that we should find Luk? Saying this, Charlie walked and told them to accompany him. The two followed his instructions; in a short time they reached the pyramid of chips. It had a central grandstand, reaching the highest part were the binoculars. The climb was easy, when they reached the top, they realized that most were being used, except one. Charlie ran and, seeing through the lenses, he could visualize everything more easily. The advantage of these long views was that they had excellent resolution, no detail was lost. Luckily, another magnifying glass became unoccupied and Jack was the one who took it. Julie had a dispute with Jack to use it; Finally, he decided it was better to take turns. Charlie told them: -We must work as a team. You look at the area where the floor is blue and I'm going to look in the yellow.

Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

The floor of the place was two colors: blue and yellow. Apparently, one section had been assembled before the other, or perhaps it represented something that they still didn't understand. In short, they did what Charlie said and, after a long time, Jack exclaimed happily and proudly of his discovery: -I found him! There he is! I think it's him, Charlie, come and see! -Let me see! - Julie, stop moving it, we'll lose him. -You see him? -I see an Asian boy with a blue cap. -I think I can focus his bracelet, it's blue. -Then it sure is him. By the way, where is it exactly? -He is about to get into the bumper cars. Let's go! What are we waiting for? -Yeah come on. Saying this, they went down the steps of the pyramid as soon as possible and headed to the place. When they reached the bumper cars, they watched the boy riding in a vehicle and, to his good luck, the game was about to end. They ran to the exit to wait for him; Shortly after, the game ended and the boy headed for the exit. When they saw him again, they identified that he was as described; Asian traits and wearing a blue cap. As he approached and as he saw them, the boy appear that he was waiting for them and asked: -Are you the ones who come for the key? -Yes! Charlie replied. - I think you have it? Yes! -By the way, what are your names? -Charlie, Julie and Jack; nice to meet you. -You are Luk , right? -Yes! -Are you also from planet earth? -Yeah that's right. - Will it be more of us here? -I've seen over a hundred of us here. I understand that they want us to rescue a magical book trapped in a castle surrounded by a maze. Sounds a bit unreal, but if we are here everything is possible. -Yes I think so. - Anyway I have the feeling that this is going to get uglier than these beings who called us expect. I've been having visions of a mysterious and scary monster. The funny thing is that only I visualize it. I hope I'm wrong. Charlie said. Luk scared replied: -I also had an unknown dream where a gentleman faced a being with eyes of fire; this being became a giant scorpion with three stingers; the knight pierced his chest with a sword and they fought. In the end, one died, but I don't know who it was. In the dream, this gentleman wore an armor that said: "Charlie." I heard a voice that told me that the final battle was approaching. -What a mysterious dream. Charlie said. The funny thing was that he had also seen that the book mentioned a final battle; the most surprising thing is that this gentleman of Luk's dream was called Charlie. - Was it him? Charlie looked at the boy and said: -We have to go to the Gift Park, could you tell us where this place is. Do you think you can take us? - I will explain to you where it is, although I will not go with you, since I will go to the ball game. They say it's great. -Before you forget, could you give us the key you keep for us? -Of course. He took the key, handed it to Charlie and put it in his backpack. Then he directed them behind the toy exhibition and showed them the way they should go. They thanked him and left. As they advanced, they were surprised to see how, from the walls, tall men with gigantic legs emerged. They walked slowly as in slow motion.

-How curious! Charlie thought. However, nobody cared more than them. –Well, maybe they are part of the security staff. -Jack, what do you think of the tall men with long legs? -I don't know, but I don't trust them. I think we should hurry and go to this Gift Park. -Yes, you're right.

Chapter 3 Charlie and his friends receive some gifts that will serve them on their trip. In the same way, in life we are presented with gifts that will serve us as we travel through it. Let's make the most of them.

Along the way, they observed several gifts packed in blue and red paper that make them seemed to be nearby. The gifts brought memories to Charlie of Christmas at his paternal grandparents' house. However, after the death of his father they stopped meeting. His grandfather was very affected, his sadness made him sick and he died a year later. His grandmother, since then, lives with his aunt Carolina, the only sister his father had. Charlie would have liked to meet the family of her mother, but she was an orphan and lived in orphanages since childhood. Practically the only relationship he had was with his aunt Hemelyn, with whom he really had no blood relationship. She was her mother's best friend; They had such a close relationship that they introduced themselves as sisters. Hemelyn was Charlie's godmother and her three children were considered his cousins. Since then, Christmas had been spent at his aunt's house. Charlie paid attention to the way and realized that they were reaching a humid place, where steam emanated from the ground. When he walked, he had a strange feeling, as if someone was following him. He looked around and, five meters from where they were, saw three wolves approaching. -Wolves in sight! He scream. Jack and Julie were paralyzed. Charlie said: -I think the wolves are looking for me Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

-Why do you say that? -Then I'll tell you. Charlie saw the wolves and the way, and said: -I'll go to the left and I'm sure the wolves will chase me. Run away as you can! Charlie did what he said and, as he imagined, the wolves chased him. Julie and Jack fled on the other side. Charlie looked at a square with hundreds of jets and headed towards that place. One of the wolves let out a loud howl and the other two tried to bite him. He dodged the attacks; in doing so, he slipped and fell to the ground. Being his face five inches from one of the wolves, he covered himself with his hands and something unusual happened: the letter that had formed on his left hand now said the word " Leikjth " and stood out. The wolves, seeing the hand, fled hurriedly and lost sight of each other. Frightened, he saw his hand and realized that the writing was impregnated in his skin. He still didn't understand the meaning of that word, less, why the wolves had been scared. Seeing his path, he realized that his friends were on the other side of the taps and shouted at him to hurry up. Charlie looked at the fountain, identified the pattern with which the jets changed and crossed. When Jack saw him, he asked: Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

-Why do you think the wolves attacked you? -In the street of the carnival, an elf told me about a prophecy. It has to do with me and for some reason they want to get rid of me. Something even more curious is the writing inscribed in my hand. Charlie showed them his hand and they were surprised. Then he told them: -I think there is something important that we don't know yet. Julie asked: -How will we know? - Tosky`s brother might have something to say. By the way, I think we have arrived at the Gift Park. Jack and Julie watched and realized that it was the place described. There were benches to sit and in the center, a gigantic mountain of gifts. Several children were there, many of them tried to climb it. At an unexpected moment, an elf approached them and gave each one a gift. Surprised, they thanked and everyone opened their gift. Charlie got a small knife, Julie got a flute and Jack, a fully equipped

bow. The

goblin told

them: -Take care of them because they will be very useful. In addition, the leprechaun gave them three additional gifts: to Julie a suit for her pet; to Charlie, a card autographed by the best practitioners of freestyle bike and Jack received a comic of a Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

discontinued collection. It seemed that the gifts were to fulfill something that they genuinely yearned for. When Julie was putting the suit on her pet, she jumped and approached where Jack was sitting. The creature made a strange noise and said: -Are you your Jack, egg head? Jack was surprised by what the animal told him and very worried he touched his head to see if it was true. Apparently there was some truth and Jack shed some tears of fury. The animal approached and repeated several times: -Don't cry egg head. Ashamed Julie took it and quickly put it in her backpack. The last thing they heard was that the animal said: -I'll see you later, mare's lips. Very distressed, she approached and apologized to Jack for the comments of her pet. Charlie saw another elf approaching them and asked: -Excuse me, do you know where the Candle Room is? -Follow the blue arrows that are painted on the floor, in the end you will find it. They saw the ground and realized that the arrows were going towards a tunnel where they could observe many fish. Apparently, they had already fulfilled three of their goals and only needed to find Tosky's brother. Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

Charlie was very curious to know what the pages of the book that had been torn off would say. What he still didn't understand was, why they had been cut. He also had other questions such as: What battle were they referring to? What was the meaning of the writing on his hand? And what prophecy did the hooded elf refer to?

Chapter 4 Charlie and his friends entered a place where the dreams of tenyear-olds are stored. Many times we store memories of our childhood, which will never be erased from our mind. Let's generate the best memories that are within our reach for all children.

At a hurried pace they entered the tunnel. Near this there was a sign that read: " Museum of the dreams of children of ten years". At the entrance they met several Hindu children who smiled and, as they passed, one of them told them: - Do not forget to enter the wonderful dream of August. -Thanks, we'll see what it is about. Julie replied very happy. The mysterious thing is that they could hear the children talk. They could hear and understand them; they were from different cultures and spoke different languages. As they noted, in this world, everything was translated into the same language. On the floor was a plaque that said: "Anika's dream reef ". - Very weird! -Is it possible to enter dreams? -Apparently in this world yes. Surprised they walked through the tunnel; It was made of glass and, through its walls an aquarium with thousands of fish of different colors, types and sizes was observed. Julie was surprised. Every time a fish known to her passed, she said her name. The diversity of fish and the feeling of being at the bottom of the sea transmitted an inexplicable peace. Charlie, on the other hand, had never dived, but it gave him the impression of being in a beautiful reef. The trip lasted ten minutes, in the end, there was another plaque that said: Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

" Anika died at the age of ten from a very serious illness. However, the place of her dreams remained protected on this site. " -It must be very sad to die so young. -Yes, I think so, and let's not say for their families,

Upon leaving that place, they came to an area that looked like a museum of paintings: with thousands of paintings and each painting kept the memory of a child. As they walked, they observed that it was possible to enter some, since they saw three children enter one of them. The painting had a sign that read: "The fantastic dream of August". From the little they saw, they could observe a landscape where there was a frozen lake and the children skated add in the background, a snowy mountain and several children skiing at high speeds. Near it, there was a painting that caught his attention for its simplicity. This child's dream place was a humble house, it had been his home. They also found a plaque that said: "August and his family died in a fire." -Well! How tragic -Yes, very sad. -What surprises me is the place of your dreams. It is very simple. -Yes, apparently, he didn't need luxuries to be happy. Charlie watched the image carefully and something mysterious happened. The painting changed at the time of the fire. He watched Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

the suspicious character set the house on fire. He also heard that his mother called him desperately by name. The boy's name was Charlie. Then he heard a voice coming from the painting that said: -You are the next one! Very scared, he asked his friends if they had seen the image of the fire in the painting; they answered no. Charlie was surprised. Along the way, they found a painting of a blond boy, who looked a lot like Jack. Jack's eyes became teary and Julie asked: -What happens? -This child looks a lot like my brother who has passed away. Henry was my twin brother and died at age ten in a bus accident. He was walking to change seats and a truck crashed in the back. My brother knocked on the door and died. -I'm sorry. -Thank you. The truth was very hard, but Henry still lives in my memories. -Like you, I have many memories of my father. While they were walking, they found a ten meter long mural with a large plaque that said: "In this place memories of the favorite places of children who have died at ten years of age are stored." The four were surprised. The surprising thing is that on the map they were given, this place was not identified. Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

They had to go to the Candle Room; near the mural they found a creature that looked like a giant snail. Charlie approached him and asked: -Excuse me, do you know where the Candle Room is? The creature replied: Follow the blue arrows and there you will find it. -Thank you. He saw the ground and again they could see the blue arrows. The snail told them: -When you reach the end of the hall you will find a door. You will need a key to enter. Good luck. Saying this, he entered his shell without saying goodbye. The four followed the arrows and led them to a small door Charlie took the key Luk had gave him and opened the door. The place was an enclosure with countless candles of all sizes and colors, all lit. The floor was full of wax and on the only table that had no candles was a note in italics. Charlie took the initiative to take it and read it. The note said: "Now is the time to test your skills." The note disintegrated and all the candles went out. Charlie

Chapter 5 Charlie and his friends have to solve puzzles to discover the content of the pages torn from the book. Many times life is like a puzzle we have the pieces, but you have to put them together. Let us have patience and faith that we will unite the pieces of our life in the best way.

The place looked like a basement. It was dark and a foul smell welcomed them. The rock completely blocked the passage, except for a space where a bright light was observed. In the distance they heard a voice that told them: -Welcome. Now you must pass the logic tests presented below. The rock that blocks the path will advance once you have passed the test. There are three tests, each time the rock advances, you must be introduced into a door located on the wall, where you will obtain one of the pages that were torn from the book through which you appeared in this world. The fourth page will be delivered personally. Good luck and I hope to see you soon. After these words, the rock moved and a door appeared in the wall located on the left side. They entered and noticed that it was a place with walls, ceiling and white floor. There was nothing but a scroll, an hourglass and a page torn from a book. The page of the book was blank. Charlie took the scroll and stretched it, had something written; when he had it completely unwound, he read it. "You must solve the riddle and can move forward and visualize one of the missing pages." The riddle is: "Mention a period of time that has not yet happened, it must happen, but when it happens it will not be."

After reading it, the sand of the clock began to fall slowly... Julie surprised said: -Well! This is complicated. Charlie replied: -Yes, but if we analyze it one step at a time, it will be easier. Let's think, what could be something that hasn't happened yet. -It has to do with the future. Jack replied. -Right. -Yes, but there are many things that can happen in the future. -You're right, but it's something that should happen. Not only that, when it happens, it stops being that way. Julie quickly said: - Is it tomorrow? When she said this, the clock was stopped and a voice was heard: -You have passed the first test. The writing of the page began to appear and Charlie read enthusiastically. Origin of the world of dreams The world of dreams has existed for millions of years. Before the first human being was born, it lived a kind of very advanced beings, with superior knowledge and technology. One of these beings experimented with dreams and discovered that other worlds existed,

but their access was not through physical and material means, but through the subconscious. After several tests he managed to connect to a world, but it was completely uninhabited. He also noticed that by using his imagination he could create things and beings from nothing. It seemed

The one who discovered it named it: "The Dream World" and for being the world dreamed by many, they later called it: "The World of Dreams". Those who knew of its existence and had the ability to connect, did so; Some did not want to return: this is a secret and privileged place for many. The three were surprised. Soon, a strong wind blew and pulled them out of the room. Upon returning to the entrance blocked by the giant rock,

entered. As the first, it was a completely white place. They saw six glasses in a row, which the second, third and fourth were filled with a green liquid. There was also a scroll and a blank page. Charlie spread the scroll and read. This one said: You should place the glasses in such a way that there is an empty glass followed by a full one. The containers must remain in a row and must be achieved by moving a single vessel. Jack saw the glasses and said: -This is impossible! -It is possible. Take the third glass and pour the liquid into the last glass and put it back in its place. -Good idea. In saying this, Jack took the glass and did what Charlie had said; in doing so, the writing of the page was visible. Julie was the one who read it:

King Horton’s Book This book materializes everything that this king created in his imagination, according to his extensive knowledge of war and battle strategy. Hurton was a warrior master and imagined a powerful army. Everything he imagined was stored in a magic book, known as the Book of King Hurton. It is believed that thousands of creatures are hidden in it. Among them, lions, unicorns, giants, elephants, crows, owls, bears, men with spring legs, elves with flying skateboards and many others. All trained for combat. It took almost his entire life to create it with the purpose of resorting to it in an emergency. The book was hidden in the library of his palace, which years later, under another reign, had a spell and became a fearsome maze. -Well, now we know why they want us to recover this book Charlie said. -What

understand is why Augustine and

don't solve their problems peacefully. -I think that Tristan is looking for power. You cannot imagine the things that people have done to have power. If you read a history book you will notice. -You're right.

Suddenly a whistle blew; the sound was so sharp and exasperating that they decided to leave as soon as possible. They realized that the rock had moved and there was another door. They approached and entered. The door led them to a white room, completely empty. As in the first, there was a scroll, a blank page and an hourglass. Charlie took out the scroll and read:

In the following puzzle you must indicate the age of Alejandro's children. Alejandro has two children, that when adding the total of their ages, the result is twenty-one. The oldest of them is twenty years older than the other; how old are they? Julie immediately said: -It's easy. The oldest is twenty and the youngest is one. In saying this, the sand on the clock began to fall faster and advanced almost in half. Charlie said: - Julie, I think you were wrong. Better not say anything until we are sure of the answer. -We don't need to think so much. Jack said: -If the eldest is twenty years old than the other one, the eldest son would be nineteen years older instead of twenty. into two, give us six months. The answer is: the oldest son is twenty years old and six months old; The youngest child is six months old. When he said this, the clock stopped and the writing of the page began to resurface. Charlie took the page and read. The Labyrinth of Terror Thousands of years ago, there lived a king who brought much suffering to his people: he collected very high taxes and took advantage of the creatures. He used them for forced labor and kept them in slavery. He wanted a woman and searched among the wives of the peasants. Finally, he found one that met her expectations, kidnapped her and forced her to be his wife. The woman refused; once he thought about escaping, he tried, but the king was cunning and realized; he punished her and locked her in a prison, tied her to a chair; After a few months, he passed away. The husband, indignantly, sought the help of a sorcerer who in himself had bad relations with the king, and this with the support of other peasants that the king had harmed made a fearsome spell. In revenge, he surrounded the palace with a frightful maze, thus preventing the king from leaving and all who worked for him. The maze made the fears of those who went through it come true and,

surrounded by the maze, was hidden in an area of memory. The kingdom continued, a new palace was built and a new king was appointed, which gave rise to the dynasty of the Dimitri. When they finished reading, another strong wind took them out of the room and they went out into the corridor obstructed by the rock. Now there was an additional door, the four of them, without much thought, entered. This led them to a room full of candles shaped like golden stars, bone white and red. There was also a wooden desk and sitting on a chair, a creature similar to the one they found upon entering the Hall of Dreams. The creature saw them, stood up, made a gesture of happiness and said: -It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Drufty and I am Tosky's brother. He approached them, stretched out an arm, shook hands with each one and said: -I knew you will pass the tests. He went to the desk, picked up a page and told them to read it. Charlie was the one who received it, after stretching it he began reading: Memory areas After a long time, certain places and things are stored in bubbles known as memory areas. These can only be seen by the creator and by those who have the ability to imagine them. it, it is necessary that they are alien to the world of dreams. King Hurton's palace is

area. When he finished reading, Drufty said: -Now you know a little more about this world and the mission you must carry out. Good luck! Charlie before leaving asked: - Do you have any idea what this word that formed in my hand means? He showed him and Drufty replied: -These letters are inscribed in a primitive language and say: the end is near. There can be many changes: the end of an era, a war, or even the end of the World of Dreams. -By the way, do you know a being with a skull face and eyes of fire? I am having several visions of him. - Hundreds of thousands of years ago, we have seen images in the caves of prehistoric creatures of a being similar to the one you mention. At that time, a war arose that ended all existing races. The only survivors were royalty and their servants. They say they hid in a basement that they had built in the palace, anticipating a catastrophic situation like the one presented and, fortunately, they managed to go unnoticed. It took a thousand years to colonize the World of Dreams again and it is believed that this being you mentioned had to do with this war. Suddenly, an intense wind blew again, extinguishing all the candles and taking them out through a door at the other end of the room. The wind was so intense that he didn't even let them say goodbye to Drufty. Upon leaving, they appeared in a section of the fair. They heard a high whistle, similar to the sound of a siren and several tall, longlegged knights surrounded them and began asking them to follow. The lords took them to a gigantic enclosure that they had not seen. Charlie could see how tall, long-legged knights did their best to call several children who wanted to keep playing. They were as many gentlemen as children and all were dressed in a red and blue suit. Inside the enclosure they noticed that more and more children were arriving. Perhaps there were more than eight hundred of all nationalities. Charlie watched the children and more unanswered questions came to mind. Why so many children? Do they need everyone? Where will we go now?

Chapter 6

Charlie, Julie and Jack are chosen to carry out the important mission of the book. In the same way that they are chosen, we also have certain purposes to fulfill here on Earth. It is up to us to decide to follow them and make them happen.

After a while and, despite having hundreds of children in this room, there was still room for many more. In the exhibition center, you could see a giant model of a place that appeared to be a region of the World of Dreams. Instead of the roof, it had a sky with clouds that changed color: from blue to red, from red to orange, from yellow to green and, finally, from pink to purple. The walls were decorated with images of famous people and a brief explanation of what they had done. The tall and long-legged knights began to disappear within the walls and there was a noise and intense light coming from the center and illuminating the place where the model of a city that appeared to be Coneria was. From inside a tall character, with a black beard, wore a blue raincoat that reached his feet. Charlie recognized the man, since he was the same one he had dreamed of last night. When the gentleman smiled, he tried to count how many they were. After a thorough visual inspection, he said: -Incredible, I think there is more than I imagined! He remained silent for a moment and in a strong voice said: - Youngsters, you don't know how nice it is for me to have you here. Welcome, I hope you feel at home. My name is Augustine, I am the king, protector and guardian of both Lerds and Warts. I imagine that some of you, after reading the book, will have an idea of who I am and why you are here. I have called you and among all we will choose twenty-four to be the ones who carry out the Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

important mission to which the book refers. For those who are not chosen, your visit is appreciated and I hope you enjoyed it. As for the twenty-four selected, I will see you soon. Good luck.

Augustine finished speaking, said goodbye and disappeared where he entered. After the silence, a hustle began to be heard throughout the room. Everyone had something to say. Charlie wondered what would happen to him, would he be chosen? From the walls came several tall knights with long legs, who began to gather the children around the model. Jack pointed to the sky and told Charlie to look. Two paths had formed in the sky and a gigantic bird with outstretched wings was leading the way they were to take. It began to feel strong breeze and a noise similar to that of a storm. Several children were scared and held each other. Most were worried about what would happen to them. Charlie thought that if it was a dream, most likely, those who were not chosen would wake up and it would all end in the blink of an eye. He, on the one hand, was afraid of what would happen to him if they chose him, but he had always wanted to do something heroic and out of the ordinary; He thought that if he was selected, he would have the opportunity to do so. Besides, the place had seemed Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

amazing and he would like to know it even better. He asked himself: - Will they choose me? Could I be one of the lucky ones?

Once all the children had gathered in the center of the room, the tall knights with long legs began to take the children to the stage where the model was. Soon they began to float in the air and there was a wind current that was leading them to where the giant bird was. This indicated which path they should follow. Nineteen children were directed to the left path, except one that was sent to the right. Charlie, when he realized, felt sadness and, seeing Jack, said goodbye to him in case he did not see him again: -It's nice to meet you. You will surely be one of them. -Thanks, keep calm, you are sure the first in the list. -I hope you are right. Said Charlie By the way, have you seen Julie and Luk? -I think they're close to the model. Both searched without

finding

them. Suddenly,

they

saw

that Luk was up in the model, ready to be sent to a way. - Luk! Charlie shouted. He turned to see them and waving his hand said goodbye to them.

In the end, they realized that Luk had been chosen. Very excited, he shook hands with Jack, as if celebrating. -Well Luk was chosen! -But, where is Julie . Looking for it, they realized that it was on the other side of the model. They went to where he was and Charlie said: -Wait! Do not get on yet. Let's go together! -Well, but hurry up. The gentlemen

them and gave

directions to climb the model. Charlie Julie and Jack climbed along with the other seventeen children. Charlie began to feel as if a current of air was lifting them off the ground. Soon they were flying in a row; they were the last. Charlie realized that all children were sent to the path of the left and on their turn, the giant bird looked at them and was silent for a moment, as if he was analyzing; then he said: -I can see a lot of courage. He placed one of his wings on their heads and after making an unknown noise, said: - I definitely see great leaders. After a while he asked: - Do you accept to be one of the chosen ones? The three, excited, responded: -Yes, we accept! -Well, then, what are you waiting for. Follow the path on the right. Written by: Alvaro Rodrigo Pellecer Benavides Literacy Works Certificate Number: 2019-00020 DAC

By telling them this, he opened the way for them. The three advanced happily. Following the path they found some steps leading to a corridor, which had several torches that illuminated the route also several toy soldiers congratulating them; the floor was paved. Passing through a part where the walls changed color and nuances, they found a rolled parchment. Charlie picked it up and, stretching it, noticed that it had drawings of figures that looked prehistoric. It looked like a violent war. Then a character appeared with a skull face followed by several dead creatures; it repeated several times. -This is really weird. Charlie expressed. -What happens in this world? -I do not know. Jack replied. -What I don't understand is why wars are repeated. It seems that this character reappears. -It's frightening -Why do you think they don't care? -I don't know, maybe they think he's dead. -You know something; I'm sure he lives and is up to something very bad. I hope that when they decide to react it is not too late. Charlie kept the scroll and followed the path. At the end of the hall they found a door that had several eyes, opened it and passed.
