Welcome to the January issue of the Ackworth Arrow

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and are now looking forward to the start of 2025. This year, the Christmas events have truly shone a light on the dedication, talent, and generosity of our volunteers. We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate their efforts.

From the heartwarming carol singing, Christmas parties, to the bustling excitement of the Christmas fayres, every event has been a testament to the hard work and creativity of those who give their time and energy so selflessly. These cherished moments wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless dedication of our volunteers, who embody the true meaning of community spirit.

A special thank you must also go to our team of delivery people, who work rain or shine to ensure this magazine reaches your doorstep each month.

May the New Year bring joy, peace, and warmth to you and your loved ones.

The February issue deadline for adverts and content is Wednesday 15th January 2025. The Arrow will be delivered by 1st February.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

The whole group has been involved with the Big Ackworth Clean up, where they planted bulbs and picked up litter. Service and doing good turns has always been an important part of Scouting. As usual on Remembrance Sunday Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their leaders paraded at St. Cuthbert’s church to remember those lost in conflict. Flags were presented by all sections. Animals who gave their lives in war were also remembered by the Cubs as they gave a purple wreath they had made themselves to honour those animals lost but not forgotten.
